General Fishing Tips / Re: Kill Bag Recommendations?
« on: May 15, 2024, 08:54:20 AM »
My kill bag is an old Walmart 50 can softcooler.  I've placed 40 lbs plus of fish in it including spiny RF.  Got on sale years ago for $25.

I hope u have luck, Paul.

If not, they might have fresh squid at the end of the first pier by MBK, plus other types of seafood as well as the shop next door that has fresh abalone.

This is are great back up plan if your squid catching is slow.

General Fishing Tips / Re: Descender Weight
« on: April 30, 2024, 06:24:09 PM »
It took 4 lbs to descend a Yellow Eye. It wasnt that big, maybe 5 to 6 lbs.  I use 1 lb weights and put the biggest snap on my descender to put all the weights together.

Curious,  How often do you wash you outerwear?  (Jackets, pants, drysuit, bibs, wetsuit, etc)

Wash? Never thought of that. Maybe that's why I always seem to fish alone...

Haha a true fisherman.  What bothers me the most is the pee drips that gets left inside. It kinda builds up.

I just put a jacket and bib in the washer after several months of use.  Used Nikwax instead of soap.

Stains and smell were getting too much.

When we go to the gym or do activities that makes sweat and get our clothes dirty, most people typically put their clothes in the wash.
When we go fishing we can sweat and get our clothing stained and slimy, especially outerwear.

Curious,  How often do you wash you outerwear?  (Jackets, pants, drysuit, bibs, wetsuit, etc)
