For Sale / SOLD - 2015 Hobie Revolution 13 w/ Custom Downrigger Mount
« on: July 25, 2019, 01:26:10 PM »
Hey NCKA folks - I'm leaning towards picking up an Outback so I wanted to gauge interest in my gently used 2015 Hobie Revolution. Kayak is in excellent shape with minor scrapes on bottom from normal usage. Always stored in my garage on a kayak rack. Comes with Vantage seat, turbo fins, sailing rudder, aluminum tracks (installed), homebrew front hatch liner and paddle. Asking $1,900 with downrigger mount or $1,850 w/o. This setup works great and is super efficient. I've included a video link below showing how it's attached and detached from the kayak quickly.

Post here or private message me with any questions. I'm located up in Chico, CA.

Thanks!
Greg

For Sale / Hunters: Mystery Ranch Metcalf Hunting Backpack
« on: January 19, 2019, 04:13:23 PM »
I've got a Mystery Ranch Metcalf with Guide Light frame for sale, size medium and color Coyote for sale. Used 6 days between this season and last. The pack is in excellent shape with no rips or tears, couple very tiny dirt marks but I'll clean them up. It was used to carry a deer out one time, however, the meat was packed in a meat bag so there are no blood stains that I can locate. Excellent pack, carries a heavy load very well.

$425 TYD via PayPal (add 3.5% F&F). Message me if interested, thanks. Located in a Chico if you’re nearby for pickup.

« on: July 24, 2017, 09:19:45 PM »
Hey NCKA -

I've got an Lowrance Elite-5 CHIRP fishfinder with navigation for sale. I ended up with this and a Garmin, and ended up using the Garmin on my Revo. This hasn't been in water - only testing and playing with it in my garage. Comes with transducer, mounting bracket, manual, power cable and mounting piece. $285 shipped (PayPal friends/family or add 4%) or you can pick it up locally in Chico for $275.

Thanks!
Greg

After completing my downrigger mount project, I figured it would be good to share to the community. I did a ton of research ahead of time, and ended up using the same method as Pmmpete. You can view his original post here: http://www.yakfisher.net/smffiles/index.php?topic=9918.0

Here's a video of me installing and removing the downrigger mount. You can see how fast and easy this is.

Parts Needed:

Things to Consider:

  • You'll notice on the bottom view, I used two t-nuts (blind nuts) on one side. This was for two reasons: 1) On my downrigger mounting plate, one hole aligned right on top of the gear trac so I had to flush mount. 2) I discovered that my paddle would not sit in the paddle holder due to the nut on the bottom and not enough clearance. Easy fix.
  • I first ordered the YakAttack knobs, however, they are 100% plastic and have a small diameter base. Instead, I found the other ones on Amazon which have a nut insert and a much wider base, keeping the unit more stable. They are like $7 for a pack of 10 - if you shot at the box stores, they want $7/each!
  • I angled my downrigger slightly forward so that I could keep my boom longer to help with line feeding due to how the Scotty Depthmaster 1050's spool line. Works great.

For Sale / Anker Astro Pro2 Fish Finder / Phone / Tablet Battery
« on: October 01, 2015, 03:48:40 PM »
So I've got a new (turned on a few times) Anker Astro Pro2 battery that I was going to use for my Garmin 53dv fish finder / gps, however, I found out that the battery output is max 1.5 amps at 12v. For reference, the Lowrance Elite-5 chirp only draws 1.1 amps (thanks Garmin) so this battery will not work. I just ordered the older model which has a higher output.

Anyways, this unit should work great for all other 3, 4 and 5" fish finders that draw 1.5 amps or less. Many guys use this exact model with great success. Unfortunately, I think I'm the first to try (publicly, at least) and find out it won't work.

$80 + tax new from Amazon, I'm asking $70. I'm in Chico for reference, but could ship for a few bucks more. Comes with mesh bag, charging plug, and both accessory cables - everything it came with in original box. I tossed the box already, but who needs that?

Thanks for looking.

Introductions / New Member from Chico
« on: August 03, 2015, 07:19:31 AM »
Hi everyone -

New to this forum - located in Chico, CA (as I see some others as well). Looking to get into kayak fishing so I can hit up Tahoe, other local lakes and even the north coast. I've been fishing for a long time, but generally from a boat or shore so this is an exciting new experience. Now to find a kayak....

Looking forward to meeting other NCKA folks!

Greg
