Finally got an Abalone Report Card

Noticed some things:

- dont forget to get a list of the locations for use when filling out your card, i don't know if it comes with one but the lady who sold it to me could care less what comes with it and had me serve myself the report card, i didnt even use the carbon copy backer so i apologize to all those who go buy one after me for the next 3 copies 

- store employees dont really care about abalone cards
- use a ball point ink pen and it will smear on the card
- locations are not on the tag card itself and i dont know if it was to come with one
- the punch holes on each tag is partially punched so good luck trying to get them out with wet hands. i cut mine out already with an exacto.
- dont forget to tear each one off in order of their number because you can end up ruining your card if you detach the very top one.

these cards are made of a thicker paper / fiber hybrid and look sharp and clean. not like the TP paper they used before.

i would bring a fine sharpie pen for this job and you can use something other than zip ties to tie the tag onto the abalone with. "zip tie" string or line. it says.

this card is so beautiful to look at that i will probably frame it. the cost is $18.65 for the card.

i ended up printing a list of spots online and will laminate it and keep it in my abalone marking box with my 5 sharpies and 100 zip ties.

time to have fun this week, nothing like ling cod and abalone on the same plate deep fried: )

Some crazy ranger will probably cite you for carry items to falsify catch reports with those 100 zip ties!

Yeah, I took two.  The lady in the shop didn't know what went where so I just took everything. 

Good idea on pre-punching the holes on the tags.

Yeah, I went out yesterday and when I tried to punch out the hole in the card, it ripped through.  No way to attach the tag.  Three minutes later a warden came to check me.  he didn't give me a hard time about it though.  They're still working out the bugs.   I didn't know that you have to fill out the report card and write the stuff on tag itself.  I only took 2 abs, both over 9.  Shot a few rockfish too.
