One of our member’s usually sets up shop at the larger events. Can’t remember his name but I got some cool stuff at last years GS. I’ll try to find his info.

Hey Fear58 I think you are the same Fear58 who was asking about kayaks on Coastside. I recommended that you check out NCKA, and I’m glad you found your way here. Check out the safety first section.

You can check what is needed on the Yakima site, and the see if they have the clips in stock.

I have a Yakima rack listed in the classified section I would let go for free to someone in need. Take a look, it has the clips(different for most vehicles) for a Nissan Leaf.

$100 to try $150 if found tipped $50 so I paid $200. Berryessa is quite a drive so I expect he would want more.

A few years ago I was throwing a cast net for herring and my wedding ring flew off into the bay. There was a mental detector shop across from where I worked so I asked if I could borrow one. They suggested that it would be difficult for me to learn how to use it while 15’ deep in murky water.
They suggested I contact one of their clients who was a salvage diver for many years. I contacted him and he agreed to dive for my ring. After about 40 minutes of searching he came up with it. I talked to him today and he says your friend can call him to talk about His situation. Let me know and I will give you his number. 804

Introductions / Re: SF guy looking to learn« on: May 18, 2020, 02:57:21 PM »Hi Joe, welcome to NCKA. If you haven’t been in a kayak yet a good place to start is to take a class. There are several places around the Bay Area that offer them. You can learn the basics, and see if it something you still want to continue with. I would recommend Sea Kayaking 1 & 2, and a surf zone class if you want to launch in the surf. There are plenty of protected ocean launch points so a surf zone class isn’t a must. The sea kayaking 1 class teaches the basics on how to use the paddle plus assisted rescue. The sea kayaking 2 class teaches more advanced techniques plus self rescue. The classes are taught in sit inside sea kayaks. If you learn to self rescue in a sea kayak, self rescuing with a sit on top will be easy. I took my classes at California Canoe & Kayak and highly recommend them. 806
