General Talk / Can U say 300 Toys!
« on: December 10, 2017, 11:46:22 PM »
Had  excellent  results in the toy drive for the kids who lost their home in the north bay fires.   After reaching $2045 in cash donations($496 from NCKA)  THANK YOU!!!
We have 300 toys to give away(ended up getting a 35% discount at Toys r us
to stretch the dollar!)!
So we reached our goal and then some for the 9 organizations we promised toys to  PLUS we can give 150 toys to Coffee Park on the Give day on 12/17
 at Jack London School!!!
I never thought that was gonna  happen, but with the generosity of those who helped
we crushed our original goal of 100!

Thanks again!

Hookups and Fishing Reports (Viewable by Public) / Toys 4 Firekids
« on: December 05, 2017, 11:32:56 PM »
Got one more chance to  make a kid happy , who lost it all. And  there are many that can claim that one, unfortunately.
So we have less than a week left of  the toy drive I've been spearheading that gets toys to kids who lost their home in the North bay fires.
As of today  we have 65+ toys and $1269 in cash donations!
Almost $350 from  the NCKA Fam!  THAAAANKS!

So far I've got Kenwood,Dunbar Schools, Toys for Kids, So Co Volunteer's Secret Santa,
3 familys, this guy who plays Santa, and the Living Room will all get toys:)

The pile of toys is growing in our spare room! and that means more kids get toys!
And we got almost $1300 for a toy shopping spree on Sun!!!
Give it some thought, if you can help , that's awesome!
The easiest is to PayPal me at
ss309@comcast.net

Thanks Scotty

General Talk / Toy Drive for the Kids whose Homes Burnt... North Bay Fires!
« on: November 25, 2017, 11:22:08 PM »
Scotty here,
I found myself in a position to spearhead a Toy Drive for a little church We go to in SR.
Knox Presbyterian. We partnered with Segals ATA Martial Arts also in Santa Rosa.
The idea is to get toys to kids who lost their houses in the Oct fires
 that ravaged this area.
So I've been in  contact with several places that we  can distribute toys. Kenwood school will be receiving gifts and possibly Dunbar.
The Santa Rosa Fire Dept has a program called "Toys for Kids"
Different than the marine based 'Toys for Tots" which is also a great program.
"Toys for Kids" will  be focusing their efforts on kids who lost homes as well,
so a big percentage of our Toys will go there. Plus a couple other leads.

Not just one or two, , but SO many neighborhoods in and around Santa Rosa just disappeared that Windy night in Oct. I get a queasy feeling in my stomach when I go thru the burnt out area's of town.  It's just so bizarre and sad!!!

I'll just say it... I'm looking for some NCKA peeps who might have a spot in their heart  for donating a toy for these kids. Some people want to help but not sure how?
This is easy and convenient.  I mean $10-$20 isn't too much of a burden is it?
Paypay me at  ss309@comcast.net is the best way.
We will be going on a Toy shopping spree around Dec 10th, it will be fun!

I made a post2 weeks ago but the old "Sorry, no content available" made viewing of the original post impossible on my phone, but it had 242 views, 8 replys, 3 donations for $120,(thank you!) so I suspect most people couldn't see it either  if their using their phone?     and alot of people use their phone!   I do...

I got alot of feelers out and have rec about 25 toys and almost $500 toward the toy shopping spree!  So hopefully I can hit my 100 toy Goal.
The drive runs thru the 1st week in Dec.
I know everybody wants ur $$$ but if you can help out I Thank You !
Best Wishes
Scotty

General Talk / Put a smile on a Kids Face-North BayFire
« on: November 11, 2017, 11:31:04 PM »
Hey NCKA land!
Scotty here, Living in Santa Rosa has been a bit challenging lately for some, as with the fires and all the destruction. As  for my home and family we are in good shape but there are a lot of others that are not doing so great. I found myself In a position to spearhead a toy drive working with a little church I go to ,Knox Presbyterian , and a local martial arts studio,
Segals ATA martial arts. After some discussion  we decided to make it a food and toy drive . The Redwood Empire Food Bank made that easy!

Not living in the area you don’t realize what happened here . Some of these neighborhoods are just poof !gone!               Unimaginable.

Having two kids and two grandkids ,
I naturally enjoy toys and Know what it means to kids to have toys. It’s good for them to play!
The fire took away alot of toys.

Some of us ask ourselves
“is there somehow I can help”???
I happen to have an easy ,inexpensive way to help put a smile on a childs face
who lost everything.
There are a couple Drop off locations options on the flyer or the easiest is,
you can PayPal me with a cash donation.
We’re gonna go on a toy shopping spree the first week of Dec. It’ll be fun!!!

You might be wondering how are the kids going to get the toys ? I’ve been talking to the Fire Dept-RVFD and some  will probably go to the toys for tots program.
We got some leads for some schools that have children  in need.
I know everybody wants your  money  but If you can spare $10-20  for a toy that would be awesome!!!  I hope to get a handful of toys here and with my other leads and feelers out and people helping , we hope to get 100.
if this sounds like something you might be interested in ,  Paypal me!
ss309@comcast.net  is my e-mail,
Friends and family is the option.
I thank you all !

« on: August 14, 2017, 07:40:41 PM »
I know what it's like when you're not at a tournament but are wondering if they're catching fish up there , well...
On Fri I picked up my PB Ling at 37 1/2"!
It's been a while since I got a big Ling but WOW , that is a great adrenaline RUSH!

Too bad I didn't catch it on sat ,  the out come may have been different. Never got a Ling on sat. A few nice verms, nice cab, couple rockies
A Verm in the net!
A few more shots of the big girl
Anyone else got some porn from Albion?
I'd like to see that 12 lb cab or some other nice fish!
Thanks

After two months and two bedrooms remodeled , I'm needing some water therapy....
I believe there will be a window sat -early
Before the tide turn and wind picks up to hopefully get a few Dungie's. Don't need a limit just 3-4...
So if anyone is feeling the same, I plan being out there at sunrise,  ch 69.
If it's too windy, Plan B would be work Cambell cove for a few hours.

Company always welcome!

Had a few days of vacay left so we we went to Blue Lakes for 3 days.
Being from SR it's less than 1 1/2 hrs
so worked out well.
Man, the mornings were beautiful OTW!
The lake still has it's charm.

The fishing is a little tough though,
there's still a few trout plants around ,
It's been 3 months since the last planting!
I saw some locals pull in 3 10 inchers trolling with castmasters

There are bass in there too,  the normal things work but Art from The Narrows  Said ur best bet is drop shoting
nite crawlers. So I did!
I was working the south side of the narrow and my wife pulled up with the pooch ,
so the dog jumped into my boat and  my wife leaned over for a kiss,
and within 1 second  I felt the tug tug tug
I was so longing for!!
Here Honey take the dog and I gotta go!!!
Nothing huge but about 13 in of spunky
largemouth. I let him live another day and that was the only [emoji226] in 2 days

All in all, it was a great little getaway for some much needed R&R[emoji39]

For Sale / 2013 Hobie Mirage Revoolution 11
« on: October 03, 2016, 10:37:05 PM »
Up for sale is a 2013 Hobie Mirage Revo 11.
It has been used once!        (yea, right)
I'm selling this boat  for a friend who doesn't know much about kayaks.
This boat was a last ditch effort for a dude to try to save his marriage.
He bought his and hers Hobies and they used them one time in Tomalas Bay for 2 hours.  Then they got divorced [emoji45]
So it has been wrapped in a tarp in her back yard for 2+ Years. She said it doesn't even have a scratch on  it!
I haven't seen it but I would believe it may have some tiny scratch somewhere?
This boat is in"like new " condition although it dosen't  have a new price or $2350.
I think it has the old style seat but not 100% sure. Has all the paperwork that came along with it, and is a real gem.
So what's it going for????
$1650/best offer!

I think it will be a good addition to someone's fleet
I think it will make a great addition to someone's fleet[emoji846]
PM me if you have interest.

Thanks for Looking

With the coast blown out this weekend I was planning to hit Lake Sonoma sat when my buddy says " wanna go with me and troll for steelhead"?
Hell yea ! Was my answer[emoji39][emoji39]
Glad I did since it was a bit windy for a yak and we got our limits! Great morning and we we're off the lake by 11:15, when the launch was getting crazy!

Got another almost this size, forgot to get a measurement on my biggest one.
One did the classic steelie dance when it jumped 3 times!!!
Downriggers, 40 ft, needlefish, main body.

On the smoker and tastes great!
This is the best time of the year for them,

Get Some!!
