Post by: Hojoman on January 19, 2020, 08:18:31 PM: Many of you know Marvin Lau. aka Shicken, who has been dealing with cancer for several years. Unfortunately, no treatments were successful beating back the cursed disease.

Marvin has always produced the most delicious BBQ and homemade pizass.

Marvin would hope that his friends could kindly send him cards. It is very difficult for him to reply via text or Facebook or answer the phone. His address is:

I last saw him at our hook up in HMB for the 2019 Salmon Season closer. Him and his friend Mark brought some bomb ass food to share and hung out for a bit. He wasn't looking great but it was great to see him. Marvin is a great example of why I love NCKA...dude has a big heart, he shares tons of knowledge, and he's always throwing it down in the kitchen/grill for his homies. I thought I actually knew how to barbecue until I met Marv. Experiencing his culinary wonders and his willingness to share his unparalleled knowledge forever changed how I approach the craft now.

We had fun chit chatting about lots of things, including baking doggy treats, his mom's cooking and the numerous women that Marv has in his cabal. If you want a chance to hook up with one of his ladies, this is the time to pounce.

The past 18 months have been tough and I dont expect things to get easier. Some days I cant get out of bed, some days i feel decent and I can be out and about.

Hang in there! I just wanted to say THANK YOU for being such an inspiration to myself and everyone on this forum. I still remember the first time I met you buying some brewing equipment. I had some of your leftover BBQ from a previous gig and then some homemade sourdough bread with butter.... SOOOO GOOD

Its been a rough ride lately. Some days I am stuck in bed, no energy to get up. I've had to train some friends and family on my needs to help keep me afloat. Its a struggle to get enough nutrition and maintain hydration.
