We are glad we made the push to make this trip too, Mark.  There is nothing like it........nothing.

Chris's Jackpot Yellowtail

18
I may not be able to catch a yellowtail but I can find cabbies anywhere it seems.

19
Randy's first Bonito.........no point in counting them all.

20
Yep.  I was able to avoid erasing my yellowtail skunk.   I even went so far as to catch a lovely little cabezon.  I also managed ocean whitefish, sheepsheads, silly little calicos and enough (more than enough) bonito to keep up the motivation to keep looking for my first yellowtail from a kayak.
As Paul mentioned, Day 1 was the dream day.  Day two went from annoying to darned real.  The following pictures show 1.  What the Islander looked like as we drifted back on the second day…those are its booms over the swell.  2.  Randy’s first bonito.  3.  My pretty little cabezon.  4.  Chris’s Jackpot yellow tail.

Today, Randy and I dropped some change at the tackle shop there at Fisherman's Landing.   They said that they will be open until 7:30 Thursday.

HI all.  Not swimming this time.  And not letting anything get in the way of this trip.  Mr YT...........here fishy fishy.  Thanks PAL and SBD for giving Randy and I  something to look forward to all this hectic summer.

Great report...........on every level!

Randy and I managed a couple of hours out of Stillwater as well.  It was good to visit with the others at the launch and on the water.  Glad we didn't need our radios since Etienne and Ark didn't seem to hear us.  Conditions as others stated.  On a variety of baits we had a morning of slow hits.  Came home with the classic, if small, Carmel Bay trifecta......27" ling, 17" cabbie and 17" olive rockfish.  Life is good in paradise.

Cool.  I like my roomate.  Thanks Paul.

I did Del Monte beach yesterday (Tuesday) morning with a friend.  The water was very green.  Saw one halibut...small and a silly little sand dab.  Go figure.  She said Lover's was just as bad the day before.

Thanks for sharing since Randy and I were stuck on land this weekend.  Fish to remember as summer ends.  We were outside a few minutes ago and "something's" blowing in.................

So, I was talking to this incredible artist type painter about fish prints and she hates doing them because she says the fish get distorted....making a round object flat.  Justin's don't look fat, nor does the cabezon on the Okutake site.  Any idea why?
