General Talk / Re: Fish finder deals?

Is the transducer from the elite 4 the same as the hook 4?
Yes, if you have an Elite 4 hdi or chirp. But the older Elite 4 transducer will not work with the Hook 4 units. The older Elite units (basic dual-beam 83/200) have an integrated plug for both transducer and power; while HDI/CHIRP/Hook have 2 seperate plugs. The older Elite 4 screen was also much smaller than the newer units.
I taught you well my son

Wanted To Buy / Re: WTB: Anvil

where you takin a class at? i used to work for a blacksmith years ago in santa cruz....freedom forge on the westside/kirk mc neill's a great local blacksmith with a lot of connections.  there's another guy on the westside named rigel who was kirk's apprentice, he makes a lot of knives.  a lot of the forge's are built by the the blacksmith's themselves, probably sure you knew that.  definitely worth droppin by freedom forge if you're around sc, last time i talked to kirk he was havin a hard time w/his shoulder so dunno how much longer he was really gonna be a blacksmith.  i also met a farrier at the prunetucky safeway the other day that was looking for local blacksmiths to work at the agricultural history project.

we've actually poured a lot of bronze at home and built a furnace, a different, indirect process but still very cool to see hot metal!
I know that farier.  Nice guy.  Does a lot of demo work at AHP.  I doubt I have any anvils I'm ready to part with.  Have an old school hand forge that works great for small project blacksmith work.

Are you sure you didn't turn the screen brightness all the way down?  Happens WAY more often than you think & people think the unit died.

Moderate at best.  Need to be on a yak to reach prime real estate.  They do have inspection & launch fee.  $10 I think

Thanks. Supposed to rain on sat but I may check it out. I've never been through an inspection. I'll have to look into it more so I don't get rejected. Any words of wisdom? Make sure everything is bone dry or what?
Clean & dry

Was out there to scout not too long ago.  Bass are fat & hungry.  It's been fishing better & better each year.  Long gone are the days of this being a trout plant lake.  The bass are now king there.

I was a dealer for them back in Florida when they went by the brand name Logic.  Know them quite well.  Our rep wound demo it by driving at 15-20 up the launch ramp or pond on it with a sledge hammer.  Durable, good ride but a few kinks I think they fixed when they switched names to Triumph

I also found a card that was attached to it. It mentions epoxy finish resists salt spray. I guess it wouldn't need to resist salt spray if it was only meant for freshwater. On the other hand, salt spray? What about saltwater?  :smt044
Salt spay= mounted to a boat that is taken to saltwater but troll motor not deployed

The old ones are for freshwater.  The idea of using one in saltwater is relatively new.  The basic differences include: Powdercoating instead of painted parts, stainless shaft, coated electrical components & a zinc anode

Tractor Supply in Gilroy is having a huge sale on gun safes ranging from the 26 gun Winchester to the 60 gun Cannon.  They also have some smaller 10 & 18 and a 80 gun mammoth beast.  The 26 gun is the best deal of their selection - Friday only starting at 6 am

No joke, I bought a titanium spork a couple years back and its been nails so I bought more.  Keep one in the office, one in the truck and one on the boat.  They come in handy.
I love my Ti spork
