Does anyone know what the firewood situation is this year?  Is it the same as last year?

If you need some I can bring some white oak.  I dont have that many fires here and I have plenty of wood to spare.

Last year the locals that were hanging with us said there is free wood over by the airport. Not sure if thats a local thing or not maybe some one "local" can confirm

I did see people cutting wood near the airport, but that's wet wood - hopefully the campground will give us some.

If my memory is correct, the campground was selling small loads of firewood for something like $10.00 each last year.  That wasn't too bad, but I think we spent somewhere around $60-80 on wood for the weekend.  The problem for most of us is that we don't have much room left in our tucks for wood once we load all our gear for the trip.

Now that Eric reminded me, I remember the airport wood pile.  He's right about the wood being mostly green.  I bet that pile disappeared a long time ago.  From what I remember it was wood from a local road crew or something like that.  It would make sense for it to be green.

Depending on how much space he has you guys may want to load Rob up in exchange for about 40 pieces of quality oak...

I've got plenty of wood and room in the trailer. Just don't want to haul 100+ lbs of it from Washington. But, we'll keep an eye out for some on the way. I'd rather pick some up after halfway thru the drive.

Islandson, best not to bother. The agriculture inspection station might not let it in.

Lumber scraps should be fine. Bug station is just this side of the border before you get to Crescent City. They inspect for bugs and hate firewood.

Come to think of it I think you aren't allowed to bring firewood into the state of Oregon although they don't have inspection stations.

You're looking very capable, Bro.   :smt003  We don't have a liaison right now - I'm leaving it up to the campground to manage it.  If someone wants to step up and be the official Gimme Shelter campground liaison I'll kick down a bonus of some kind.   :smt001
