OK, this is the place to post up the culinary creations you will make/bring to the LRC at Anchor Bay.

Texas boy and I are gonna be organizing the potluck, and we are shooting for a NCKA worthy event!

The Pot Luck will begin at 2:30pm on Sat. after the tourney. I'm thinking this will be enough time for most everyone to complete their dishes. Personally, I kinda like when some stuff is still being cooked as we start, as the later food comes hot off the grill, as the first courses are gone.

Texas says we will have a 50gal. barrel cooker available for your marinated(or not) meats.

I am working on my Dutch oven skills and will be making a desert item.

What will you bring to the table at Anchor Bay?

Fishing Tournaments and Events / UKES (Slay 'n Play) at Clear Lake 6/28/14

OK Ukers - and anyone else possessing the urge to uke it up at the Clear Lake tourney.
I have been needing a big jam sesh lately after getting a little blown out at Berry and too tired to do anything but party at GS8!
So get ready for a relaxing evening strum session by the pool at Edgewater.
It would be cool to have other instruments as well - for instance Napa Justin's trumpet playing fit in real nice at Berry.
I know there are some good players out there, so break it out NCKA'ers, Slay 'n Play!
Chime in with what you got, and post any charts you'd like to jam to.
We have a month to practice

Kayak Fly Fishing / Stripers at the port 04.30.14

Well baby stripers anyway

Launched at 5:30 - off the water at dark.
Rigged up light on the gear for the SUP, got into a schoolie early on then another 20 mins later.
Got both casting towards small boils of diaper schoolies.
Worked the Pole Dancer for the eve. bite, but no love.
Anthony/exhibita stuck a crappie, striper, and a 14"LMB using minnows.

Fishing Tournaments and Events / BSS4/kayak fest. UKE Jam and workshop

If you are planning to attend KayakFest/BSS4 and you wanna get your UKE on be sure to attend the UKE jamfest on Sat. eve. Just listen for the sweet sound of Ukulele's going off along with some howling, errr singing, and make your way over with your Uke or other musical device.

Note: I don't actually have a campsite yet so we still need a good central location to gig at.
Anybody in the core area game to host this epic musical event or share a campsite?

I'll post some song charts in a couple of days, please post or bring your favs and we will learn them, or try to...

If you want to try out a uke just ask me and you can fiddle around with mine, I'll also bring some other acoustic instruments to play.

Hookups and Fishing Reports (Viewable by Public) / Windy Port 04/22/13

Hit the Port today with Abdiver and Kokoloco, wind was the order of the day - er week!
Started throwing Clousers on a 8wt sinking line, then graduated to drifting the puny minnows we scored at Penny Bait.
Decided to try and double up the minnows to get twice the action.
It worked, but only for two juveniles, a small p#$$y, and a fairly illegal stripper(sp?)

Also found a garter swimming in the water.

OK, gotta get out of the gutter!

Tried out the Turbo Fins I finally installed - they worked great.

Bunch of ships inda Port 2day - must mean the economy is picking up a bit!

Eric and Sam, it was good to fish with you guys today!

Hookups and Fishing Reports (Viewable by Public) / SUP LMB at the Port o Sac

2nd trip OTW for the OK Nalu 11 2day.
Launched at 4pm after a last minute decision to go fish, but mostly to paddle the Nalu.
Paddled and fished the north shore up to the barges with various flys and fished the rip rap and under trees on both shores back to the launch.
Blind casting a 6wt floating line with no electronics, I like it simple most of the time.
I got into a couple Largemouth Bass, the first was 12" cute and a fighter.
LMB 2 was a brute(flyrod PB

) that boiled on the orange and yellow popper after few twitches under a tree branch.
It was cool to be able to stand and cast from the Nalu, and fighting the fish standing was fun too.
Never fell in, but I know it's gonna happen - Wakes and waves are felt a bit more!
Mooch is right, the SUP thing is FUN!!!

Just got back from a vacation to Kauai, HI.
We stayed at an awesome house in Haena, which is just west of Hanalei, with two other families.
Great place, and the weather, unlike last years storm-out was perfect.
Got a chance to fish a little, at the beach in our backyard and off a SUP in the Hanalei river.
Can't wait to go back!

If anyone wants info on the house pm me.
