I did a little looking. Here is what I found:

There have been:
over 8000 all time sign ups to NCKA
2790 have never posted
1050 with only 1 post
540 with 2 posts
5700 with 10 or less posts
1500 with 11-100 posts
600 with 101-1000 posts
90 with 1000-2000 posts
75 with 2000-5000 posts
40 over 5000 posts
12 with 10,000 posts or more
All time high is Hojoman with 26696

I am number 15 on the list at 8505 since 2009

What did this show? I have a lot of spare time to look at things like this and be on the internet. I should be fishing or hunting!!

I guess I have been, was, pretty active around here based on my number of posts. Last couple of years I have not been on the site nearly as much. Maybe this year I will try to contribute more again. 2009 seems like forever ago when I found all of you old timers.

Hookups and Fishing Reports (Viewable by Public) / Re: Bullard's Bar 12/20
« on: December 21, 2020, 10:03:11 PM »
Just saw a report from today at Bullards. .9-1.2 mph in the top 10-15' past the house boats. Towards the rest of the lake. Be careful if you troll near the houseboats. Cables everywhere.

The best lake this time of year is Bullards for Kokes. Berry and Melones are dead for Kokanee but the trout have been on a bit at Melones. Berry is tough right now from what I have been hearing. Bullards Kokes are always small. They max at about 13". Right now I would guess about 10" tops. That is why I toss Magnum 6-8" spoons for Spots at Bullards.

I assume you were catching small kokes? I don't see many bows caught in that area. If they short strike it is one of two things usually. Too fast or too slow. Vary your speed up or down a lot. If you slow down a lot and no strikes at all you went the wrong way. I usually like slow, .9-1.2, but sometimes it takes a fast troll to make them attack harder and get the hook. The other option is that the fish were really small which is possible at that location. Small meaning 5-6" right now.

It appears there are 4 main parts associated with that code. Did you replace all 4? If there are vacuum lines in that system check all of them or just replace to make sure there is no small cracks in any of them. Beat I can do for now unless it was in front of me.

Heroes On the Water (HOW) / It is time to go
« on: December 02, 2020, 09:39:39 AM »
Hey all,
I have decided to let the reins go of the Nor Cal Chapter of HOW. I have been doing this since Don started the chapter in 2009-10. Missed 3 events in that entire time. I just have become too busy with other life projects to continue on here. With that said, I would like to thank all of you that have helped us out over the years and volunteered a lot of your time.

I would like to find someone to take over the helm, so if any of you would like to look into it let me know. I could help you transition over if needed.

Gearing Up and Rigging Up / Re: Help identifying aftermarket rudder

That is very similar to a Wilderness Systems rudder with the pin. In fact I would say that is a WS knockoff rudder.

Welcome. If you have any questions about your Wilderness Systems kayak I may know a thing or 2.

General Talk / Re: regular VS COMMERICAL Fishing Lic.?
« on: September 30, 2020, 12:26:08 AM »

Does anyone know if a stubby SOT kayak is even considered a "boat" as far as Com Fish Lic, because it seems like any Com Fish Lic used on a boat needs to have $400 fees and maybe regs and inspections for the boat.   What about waders with floats?  Serious question.

It is a boat, it needs to registered commercially and can only be used for commercial purposes. No  fun fishing out of it. All commercial regs will apply to your "stubby" 14' kayak. Insurance, and other requirements too. Not worth it. I do not know why I even replied to this. Up late and bored I guess.

General Talk / Re: Discontinue of hobie revo 16???
« on: September 22, 2020, 08:06:28 PM »
16" kayaks for the most part do not sell well and take up too much warehouse or floor space at dealers. Manufacturers do their home work and won't produce a kayak that will end up costing them money to sell. A kayak that does not sell well will cost the manufacturer in the form of down time switching molds and things like that. Wilderness discontinues the Tarpon 160 a couple years ago for the same reason. They don't sell many anymore. Long touring boats still sell so they will still produce those.
