If your still looking to test out an outback you are welcome to try mine out. I am actually going to be selling it relatively soon as well if your interested feel free to shoot me a message if you want to test it im located in vacaville. If your just wanting to test the self recovery my pool has plenty of room or we can go out to the sloughs near my place and you can get a feel for it.

Hobie Kayaks / Re: Hobie Revo vs Old town predator PDL
« on: August 19, 2020, 07:36:18 PM »
I agree that the old town predator is closer to the outback. I have an outback and it is a great boat but i am going to be switching to a revo instead with it being a pain in the ass to load. I dont need the added stability of the outback compared to the revo. The revo is plenty stable and significantly faster from what i have tried. You are welcome to test out my outback if you want once the fires die down around here. I imagine all of the boats will work out for you its just a preference of what your looking for in them. the revo should be like 70-80 pounds and i think the old town is like 115 pounds if i remember right. The outback should be like 105 pounds so if loading is an issue or concern id go with the revo. I want to switch to the revo from the heavier boat becuase i find that since buying it i fish significantly less. I dont go on 2-3 kayak trips in the sloughs anymore becuase its a pain in the ass to load the heavier boat. When i had a lighter boat i didnt mind doing it more often.
