General Talk / You tube how to question
« on: October 22, 2015, 12:51:30 AM »
I have a project I need to do. Hopefully it will inspire someone with lung disease. Is there a way to convert a VHS tape to a format that I can put on You tube? Seems many here put stuff on you tube. And might be able to help me help someone.

General Talk / I thought I'd check out a site I saw on T.V.
« on: September 27, 2015, 09:20:40 PM »
The site is called Protect the Harvest dot com.  It is a group that keeps us all informed what is happening in each state Animal right and Ecologist vs Farmers, and Sportsmen. I  copied the information and found something curious. One of these groups are not only going after lead in our sport but rubber lures as well. I am thinking all of the sportsmen in all the states need to use this site.

Anti-Fishing Policy Advocacy

Anglers are a vital part of our economy and conservation efforts.  There are more than 33 million American anglers who help support 828,000 US jobs and provide more than $115 Billion to our economy.  However, even though 95% of Americans support legal fishing, animal rights extremists are using state legislatures to crack down on fishing.

Since 1998, Maine, Massachusetts and New Hampshire have passed bans on lead fishing weights.  Connecticut, New York, Vermont and Washington have considered doing the same.

On January 17, 2013, Maine State Representative Paul Davis introduced legislation to prohibit the use of rubber lures for fishing.

Animal rights groups PETA and the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) have even called for restrictions on deep-sea fishing and shark hunts.

Safety First / Things we can learn from the two missing boys in FL
« on: July 28, 2015, 05:50:23 PM »
A simple Spot would have helped these kids. Not that their parents couldn't afford it. I take there things for my safety. NO1 is a PFD. NO 2 VHF. No3 is a Spot no 4 is my Shark shield. The way a spot works is it contacts satellites that Contacts their offices in FL and they contact the proper authority's. No matter on land or sea in the world.  What a tragedy, that more people do not use spots.

General Talk / Movie theaters
« on: July 24, 2015, 04:05:28 PM »
I take my wife to the movies almost every week. I think I'm going to be reevaluating our seating. I may apply for my CCW permit. Gun free zones seems not to be working out so well. The Old west was not as violent as portrayed in the movies. There was much more respect due to the fact.

I have a friend that Invited me up to fish New Melones lake. I was wondering is trout fishing in season there, and what to use? I hate to take trout gear, and find out it would have been better to target Bass. He has a tin can boat were using, and both of us have never been there before.
