As a new new member I've found the AOTY chart of species caught by date and length very helpful for seeing what months are best for each species. Unfortunately there is a date error ("Inverse Y2K Problem") for rockfish, salmon, and striped bass that makes the graph compress to fit 100 years of data. Editing or removing the three bad dates would fix the problem:

http://aoty.norcalkayakanglers.com/species_leaders/3/list_by_species
http://aoty.norcalkayakanglers.com/species_leaders/10/list_by_species

I also like to see what the species look like and can get an idea if there is a minimum size by the minimum length shown on the graph. I know that's not the most accurate way to learn the size regulations, but it beats starting with the 91 page book.

I tracked down two of the problem dates. 2008 was entered as 0008 twice for this angler. The  program probably defaults to the 1900s if the year entered is less than a certain value.

And this fish was caught way back in the middle ages (1018):

At least I'm getting posting credit for finding these!

I also really enjoy studying the catch data.

I don't have AOTY/DOTY admin rights anymore but messaged SinCoast who does.

Hopefully those few discrepancies can be fixed.

Okay, I think I've fixed the date errors.   I'm still trying to figure out how to prevent it in the future.

Probably the easiest way to avoid the problem would be for the catch verification to include a check that the date was entered in the correct format.

I doubt today's issue is related, but just tried to load some fish from this a.m. and I get an error that today's date is not "in the list".

Anybody know what might be going on?

Related, the crappie bite at Clear Lake has fairly significantly diminished since last week (when i was unable to fish).
