This boat is part of the “new fleet”

I cannot find much information surrounding it no reviews yet (hint, hint)

It looks pretty sweet though! Maybe good offshore? Its pretty big around 13’ and it may get less attention because it retails around $2599 Meaning its going to compete with Hobie Revo’s/Outbacks.

Personally I really like the look of it though I think its going to get popular.

Something Im not sure about is the Oldtown PDL system, does it surge when pedaling? I know a Hobie can pedal with little effort due to its ergonomics I think the bicycle style motion drives can be hard on people with knee issues like myself.

They make a paddle version as well much cheaper around $1499 but it cant be retrofitted in the future to pdl so thats a limitation.

Anyway, check it out! Lemme know what the general census is, anyone got out there on it yet?

It's just the Oldtown Predator re-named "Bigwater 132 pdl"

The topwater 120 was renamed the "Sportsman 120 pdl"

The only real difference is the name and color selections.

Oldtown re-named their fleet of kayaks in 2020.

Any 2019 predator review will get you all the info and action on the water you will need to see.

Ahh I see,
I was wondering why there wasn’t any reviews!
The track system they use looks like it may only accept certain types of after market brands any experience with them? Is that pretty standard?

It's a standard track set up, it just looks different. I had a120 pdl and I really liked the boat. The drive is the same on the predator and any pedal drive can surge, it just takes practice to get used to the pedals sitting down... especially coming from a mirage drive.

I don't fish in the salt but I know from reviews that the Predator is an extremely capable offshore boat and is really fast.

I've owned the Ocean Malibu PDL with the same pedal drive as the old towns for over 2 years now.  There is some surge when pedaling, but you'll get used to it and find the right pace.  However, it is sort of like pedaling on the wrong gear setting sometimes on a bike. Like pedaling a bike on higher gears as oppose to smaller gear, especially if you're going against the current.

The old town Salty is basically the same as the Ocean Malibu PDL.

Very stable kayaks and certainly great for offshore in my opinion.

I'm looking at getting the Malibu Pedal/Sportsman Salty (if I can ever find one in stock!). What is pedal "surge" that you guys are referring to?

Also, what kind of places do you use the Malibu Pedal? Have you found that it spins while standing? I saw one reviewer state that the banana-shaped hull causes the bow to stick up more, especially while standing, and that the boat "spins like a top" if there is any wind.

Edit: Sorry for the thread jack, I just realized this isn't on point with OP.
