General Talk / Honest opinions about the sport of kayak fishing
« on: September 17, 2018, 01:19:43 PM »
As I mentioned in my 'Intro Post,' I'm seriously looking at getting a new fishing kayak. I've never fished from a kayak before, but watching all those YouTube videos of catching big lingcods, rock fish, salmon, and stripers is strongly enticing me to drop some $$$ into a quality pedal Yak.

I do plan on trying it out first (rental somewhere), but before I pull the trigger for my own yak, I'm hoping some of you could share your opinions about the sport. Good and bad, what can I expect? What do you like, what do you hate? Any regrets? Thanks all :)

Introductions / Newbie and future 2019 Hobie Outback owner
« on: September 14, 2018, 11:07:23 AM »
Hi all,

Just a quick introduction here. I just joined NCKA because I'm planning on picking up a new 2019 Hobie Outback later this year or early 2019. I'm based out of San Ramon. I fish the lakes, rivers, bay, and surf, but have never been kayak fishing. Before I even head out to buy my Outback, I'll check out the many posts here to learn as much as I can about kayak fishing. I'm sure I'll have plenty of questions, so I'm hoping you could guide me along the way. Hope to meet many of you on the water, and join in on a few kayak hookups.

Best regards,
'A-Rod'
