Title: PacOut Demo Kayaks for sale, trying to pick one
Post by: Poopsmith on November 11, 2020, 10:23:35 AM
I really want a mirage drive, and pacific outfitters have used 2019 compass and outback coming in.

I put down on the outback for $2k, but I havent seen it yet. But apparently they are flying off the racks like hotcakes so i had to pay to hold it.

I think i could hack a compass ($1500) and just spend my money on doing my own improvements, easier to load and similar size/stability, but I think I like the extra space and rails that come with the outback and the nicer seat.

I want to rockfish, hali, crab, and get some salmon in humboldt.

Im pretty sure im gonna lean towards that outback unless it is super messed up from all the rentals.

Can’t go wrong with an Outback, basically.

Agree! The design for the 2019 or newer is wayyyyyy better than its predecessor. Im looking for an Oasis.

Go with the Outback, no question about it.

Oh man im stoked. So I bought a wilderness systems ride 115x a couple years ago for 800 bucks. It was ready to fish but I added a anchor trolley and a rudder system and some track accessories. I basically recouped those costs and kayaked for free for the last two years because I sold it for 1100 bucks on craigslist!

Then put that towards the demo 2019 outback. Now I have no accessories but i have a mirage drive, a fishing pole and a dream so LESSGOO.

accessorizing and figuring out the setup is half the fun for me anyways but im gonna try to keep it simple. Looking forward to a maiden turkey day voyage.
