Was in the mood for some fly fishing after a few months of the off season so I headed to lower stanislaus where it opens on the 1st of the year. The water was kinda high and moving pretty quick. The dam said it was releasing at 600 cfs but I wanted to get out for a few hours.

Perfect weather for fishing but it was tough. I had my indicator about 8ft above my lead fly and still had to put on a few shots to try and get deep enough in the slower pools. I missed a couple fish and got two to the net. They weren't of any size (8" and a 12") but still fun. First took a size 20 uv perdigon and the second took a size 14 red headed pheasant tail.

Matt is my brother sir but it's cool lol. I fished the two mile road access. Wasn't easy access with the water level but seemed like a cool spot to hit once the flows drop off.
