Wanted To Buy / Re: spearfishing gear
« on: December 21, 2024, 02:04:47 PM »
I'm considering selling all of my dive gear, except the mask and snorkel.

It's all used but well taken care of.   The suit is an Omer open cell dry suit and I believe the spear gun is a rob allen.  It's been a while since I've used them so I forget the exact specs.  I weighed about 215 and it fit me comfortably.

There is also have a kelp carrot with line, omer fins,  dive light, dive knife, etc...

I haven't thought much about prices yet but I'd like to clear a lot of stuff out to make room in the garage for other equipment.  If you're interested, send me a message and we can work something out.

I built my own cold smoker for bacon and cheese.  I decided to go with a smoker tray I put pellet dust into.  It works well.

Not to hijack your thread but I have a Smoke Daddy Magnum P.I.G for sale.  I used it twice but it made too much smoke for what I needed.

For Sale / Jackson Cuda 12 - $500

I have an organge Jackson Cuda 12 that hasn't gotten any use in a very long time so it's time for it to go.

It's a great big guy boat.  I used to use it when diving.

Comes with the lawn chair seat.  No paddle or any other gear.

Must come pick it up in Mountain View.  I'd rather have it gone sooner than later.

...quite possibly offering up the personal services of the scissor trimming leprechaun that lives in the clothes hamper of one of his bathrooms.

also, the leprechaun services are no longer available after your last incident, he's still in therapy.

Art, it sounds like we're going to have another talk about you peeping through my clothes hamper and my bathroom.

But since you mention it, I highly recommend "The Lawnmower" product line from Manscaped.  They're a good all over trimmer.  There are multiple versions, of which I have the 4.0.   The blades are replaceable, they hold a charge well, they're easy to travel with (with a setting to be sure you don't accidentally run the power down while they're in your bag),  they have a light in case you're trying to reach some dark and hard to see areas. Let's not forget that they just look cool...even if your significant other is not impressed by your own equipment or how well you maintain that equipment, I feel confident in guaranteeing that they will be impressed by the equipment you use to maintain your equipment.

Don't forget to also subscribe to the peak hygiene plan. It's $20 per shipment and you get to pick up to two of their products...you can switch what those products are so you can try them all but I always keep the replaceable lawnmower blades in the package so I can avoid any potential of the issues Art is having with his Norelco.

How much from he wheelz?

How about $140?  They're the originals but in great shape, not used very many times.  They've been hanging in my garage from my roof for years.

For Sale / Time to simplify

It's time to simplify and get rid of some things.

Fishing Gear is used but pretty well taken care of:
  • Shimano TR100-G  - $50
  • Abu Garcia - 6500C3 - $25
  • Shimano Baitrunner - 6500B
  • Shimano Cardiff - 300A
  • Scotty Thingy -  Free
  • Okuma Catalina -  $50
  • Ugly Stick Tiger BWC 2201 -  $40
  • Shimano Talavera -  $60
  • Jackson Cuda 12 - Orange
  • Original Wheeleeze
  • 3/4 oz bucktails - I have about 40 of them, maybe more - $2 each

I also have dive gear: suit, masks, gloves, snorkels, weights, fins, dive gear bag/backpack, etc... if anyone is interested, it fits an XL.

I also have way too much tackle and more rods, if you need something just ask.  There's some chance I might have it.

Non fishing gear:
  • Beer Brewing Equipment - including 5 gallon kegs
  • A small freezer - It's about 2' Long X 2' Wide X 3' High

For pictures see: https://flic.kr/s/aHBqjAUXPX.  If there's anything you're interested in and need a pic just let me know.

Prices are negotiable.

Here's my ask because of previous bad experiences.  If you decide to buy:
1) Let's settle on a price and stop negotiating
2) Local pickup only - I'm in Mountain View
3) I doesn't matter to me which NCKA Express driver comes to pick it up for
you

This looks like it would be a fun adventure.  I might have to check it out.  Thanks for sharing.

General Talk / Re: Alaska trip recommendations or tips?
« on: March 27, 2023, 01:52:42 PM »
thinking about putting a trip together to take my 10 yr old up the week of October 16.  Not sure if it'll be fishing big water or exploring primarily, but there will be some element of fishing involved.  If we go, b great if you'd join

Let me know when you're a bit further along on the planning.   So long as there's a possibility of targeting a halibut I'd be into it.

General Talk / Alaska trip recommendations or tips?
« on: March 25, 2023, 02:40:29 PM »
What’s up everyone?

I’ve always wanted to fish for halibut in Alaska and i think this is the year I'm going to make it happen.

I’m looking for any recommendations you’re willing to share. Charters, hotels, or all inclusive lodges… i’m undecided which route to go.

I see crackerjack in Seward has high recommendations.

Is it best to take my own gear or use whats available on the boat?

Any info would be helpful.  Or if you're going and are looking for someone to fill your private charter, i might be down for that.
