Gearing Up and Rigging Up / Which Fish Finder?
« on: August 23, 2021, 10:01:41 AM »
Hello All.

Going nuts here and about ready to pull out what little hair I have left.

Picking up my Old Town PDL on Wednesday but I can't decide on a Humminbird Helix 5 or 7 or a Lowrance FS-7.

I do a lot of lake and Delta angling but the ocean is where my future interests lay.  Staying at Albion Sept 7-21 and looking to retire up in Trinidad.

Hi All.

Getting ready to buy a new wet-suit.

What thickness/mil do you suggest for the day in Shelter Cove in June/July?

Introductions / And Yet Another Newbie.

Hello All.

Dennis here aka SleighRideClyde from Manteca.

Just got my first kayak and I too graduated from the float tube armada.

I love all types of fishing from flyfishing in Sierra streams & lakes to bass & catfishing in the Delta. I'm really looking forward to getting into the ocean.  The wife painted a seal on the bottom of my 'yak and smeared chicken blood all over it and told me it was for good luck.  What a Gal!

Anyway, there's only one thing I like better than fishing and that's catching fish.  Been doing so for 56 of my 59 years.

I hope to meet some of you and if I'm lucky enough spend some time wetting a line.  If anyone feels like tolerating a beginner I'd sure appreciate an invite.  If I'm reading everything right halibut are just a few weeks away.

Regards,

Dennis
