At some point, it’s time to stop reeling your kayak closer to the fish. 3
General Talk / Non-Kayak: Looking for stereo/CD/DVD recommendations for a travel trailer« on: September 18, 2022, 07:29:22 PM »
The disc drive in our iRV-33 system in our trailer has failed; it just ejects the disc after a few seconds. This includes trying to run a cleaning disc in it. So, all the online reviews seem to be by businesses that have a horse in that race. Anybody had good or bad luck with a particular system or brand of system? Thanks in advance!

Thinking about getting a pedal drive (and pod) for my Raptor G-2. Any thoughts? Turbo vs old school?

Here is where not to swim, let your kids swim, or let your dog swim. Seriously bad toxic stuff!

Gearing Up and Rigging Up / Rack reckommendations« on: October 29, 2018, 07:58:39 PM »
Hey guys,
We just bought a 2017 Subaru Outback. The factory racks are fairly wimpy, and I'm not getting any younger. Any suggestions for a roof rack that can later on take something like a Hullivator? Thanks in advance, Dan 9
General Talk / Non-fishing yak question« on: July 24, 2018, 11:27:24 AM »
Anybody out there know anything about places to hunt waterfowl in the Mendonoma coast area? Got a grey camo Raptor G-2, but just moved over here. Fishing is great, but not seeing the duck/goose opportunities jumping out at me. I’ve mostly been a public land, Sac Valley hunter. Thanks for any input!

CA Regulations / Not sure if this is CA Regs or Safety, maybe both« on: August 06, 2017, 01:48:11 PM »
I am pretty sure this is not an "approved method of take," although the results demonstrate a high efficiency in getting some very large fish. On the other hand, I simply cannot recommend it as a safe way to fish, especially from a kayak, and most certainly not if you have a carbon fiber boat or carbon or metal rods on board:

General Talk / Reminder to get a new license« on: January 01, 2017, 09:45:05 PM »
Sometimes, especially for us geezers, time gets away from us while we aren't paying attention. Time to get your new fishing licenses if you haven't already done it. And hey: Let's be safe out there!

General Talk / Anybody want to pull a water skier with a kayak?« on: October 04, 2016, 03:51:04 PM »
This things just might do it. Not sure about calling it a kayak, though.
