Yes we all fish to clear our minds. The problem is 40 million people are in this state. and they have to do something. Its not like Montana where I go out my back door and fish the stream with no one at all around even in good times. I do feel your pain. I too have had new ventures I wanted to start this year. I have trademarks approved but no one has answered for 3 weeks from my lawyer to the patent offices. Both emails and phone. The only response 3 weeks ago. send more money? LOL

Colors varied at times like all things. But like any lure presentation, Current, bait in area seems to make a difference. When we had red crabs in area the orange seamed better. The brown when the fish were eating Short belly rockfish or small bocaccio. White and yellow when Squid were in the area.
Mustad and eagle claw hooks were used. Pretty big eye in the older style hooks compared to the new ones. Not as sexy as todays hook. But for bottom fishing it does not matter.

Something like to lawn chair material. I have had this stuff for awhile and trying to remember what it was. But that would work. Lots of prep though.

I made some with larger hooks for lings with some whoo bomb chromed heads. You could pin a blue on them or a whole squid. Will send pics soon. Trying to be creative with materials I have. I have dealt with antique tackle for 30 years and there is lots of old back stock I have to go through.

I will try to price them when I get more done. My buddies in L.A. want some. LOL THEY REMEMBER ME MAKING FOR THEM YEARS AGO.

3/0 hooks and 4/0 hooks. Used to make these for commercial  Rock Cod back in the day we fished 80 to 125 fathoms. These are smaller than the7/0 size or 8/0 size we used to use.  I fished with a Penn 12/0 on a 11 ft Sabre gaff blank made into a rod with rollers. And of course a extension handle.  130 Dacron 75 hook gangion  of which I had 72 reds and Cowcod mixed on one drop. We used to get a ton to a ton and a half a day for 2 guys fishing.  65 cents a pond for reds and other rockfish were 30 cents a pound. Heck Lings were 15 cents and they did not want them.  One day I caught 45 lings up to 44lbs at San Miguel island. All on the Iron one day and a bonus 40 lb Octopus. We had a pinnacle that was not on the charts back then an it was 225 ft and LOADED with lings. I will be selling these later. The gangions are two hooks with snap and swivel and 30 lb Ande main line.

Heck  I have caught rockfish on Condoms, Banana peels, bacon, balloons, chicken wings. Had a customer on a charter boat that had a bet with 5 guys  he could catch a rockfish with a  rigged  dildo  in 400 ft of water. We called the contest DEEP COD.

There are organized groups in the bay area stealing trailers with everything on them in less than two minutes from cut to hook up. My Neighbor had two taken yesterday. Two trucks pulled up and drove up in less than two minutes. Watch your boats and trailer. Don't leave Garage open. People know the cops cant cover stuff. By the time the police came they were  gone.  The police said there is nothing they can do about it.  These were hardcore looking dudes. I don't trust people riding bikes with back packs in my hood I don't know.

Mostly. Sometimes there is stuff barely used if not near new. Lots of guys unload stuff they overstocked. Or just thinning out. You will go to more than 300 yard sales to find more than whats at this place. Might even find a hard to get lure. That is discountinued.
