I have this exact same kayak, haha. It's a piece of shit, but works for me. I don't do any ocean fishing or anything with a strong current though. It helps that I'm only 5'9" 150lbs though.

General Fishing Tips / Fishing the north Napa River???
« on: June 12, 2016, 12:02:12 PM »
So I was just informed of a kayak launch in the northern area of the city of Napa. It is on Trancas St. behind the Chevron gas station. So my questions are what can be caught this far up north on the river (where I'm assuming it's more freshwater than brackish, correct me if I'm wrong) and if anybody has some tips on lures and bait too. I'm very new to kayak fishing and would love to have more spots to fish at close by.

Thanks guys. Just now figured out how to find this thread again. As well as new to yak fishing, I'm to new online forums as well.

Anyways I got onto a local private farm pond and did pretty well and am enjoying it so far. Being able to hit these willows from the water and not the bank has allowed me to double my productivity. I caught my first striper yesterday, but from the bank... A ill shaker but still excited to start catching different fish.

Just found this forum about two weeks after buying my first SOT kayak. I'm a decent largemouth bass fisherman, and want to expand my skills to include freshwater trout and some dinosaur surgeon.
