I really liked the three species requirement and the fact that it was hard to achieve. It adds a whole extra level of strategy to the tourney. We had a great time will definitely be back

There was no requirement to catch 3 species.  If you wanted to turn in the 6th fish it had to be the 3rd specie.  It could have easily been won with 5 fish if one was a halibut.

The rule was you had to turn in three species to have any fish count. Pretty sure that is what it was.

Mmm nope, but you pretty much had no chance of winning without it.  If that was the rule and no one caught 3 species then no fish would be weighed in.  The rule said you can turn in 6 fish that consisted of at least 3 species.

The way I interpreted the rules you had to have 3 of the scorable species in order to qualify.  We had 4 species, but 2 were not on the list so we didn't weigh in.

Echoing Racin and Ben: from what I recall, you had to have at least 3 of the eligible species to qualify for the weigh-in.  I'm pretty sure this was asked at the pre-tourney gathering at Pacific Outfitters the day prior to the tournament.  I even remember one team being turned away from weigh-in table because they only had two species.

Personally, I really enjoyed the 3-species requirement.  Combined with the 2-person teams, it opened up all sorts of possibilities for strategies.  Way more fun than everyone just vying to catch the biggest lingcod.

Sweet! Great job on tourney, don't change a thing.
This.

In the spirit of not changing anything, Rob and I will try our hardest to make sure the same team wins next year.  :smt003 :smt006

I wasn't at the pre-tourney gathering so I guess I may have interpreted the rule wrong.  That would definitely have me rethink my strategy some, but I would have still went out for a halibut after quickly catching one the day before that would have scored good. We may be lucky to even have a halibut season in September next year.
