Part of me wished my brother in law's flight was not delayed so we could have been there to help and the other half of me is glad I wasn't there because I am sure my wife would put some moratorium on my ocean fishing. You should email those pics on the Cobra .

My vote for NCKA is in.

I have no idea how I was nominated, but I want to give my thanks to the guys who voted for me.

General Talk / Re: Feelings about worms
« on: March 08, 2013, 06:11:11 PM »
From what ive heard if u soak the fillets in ice water the worms will come out over night. Freezing an cooking should kill every thing an if not from what ive been told ur body will kill them but hey its just what ive been told. Ive only found bugs in the meat of boccacios so far been lucky or blind lol

Never keep your fillets in fresh water, it makes the meat all mushy, salted water works just fine for short period, or freeze it for a few days.

I was thinking of running a rod threw it adn bolting it on both sides. The carts gets used 2-3 times a year if that. I am sure you are right, but with the amount of use it gets that will last me a few years. Even then tees adn a few pieces are 1/2 inch are cheap.

Craftsmen's Corner / Modifying a scupper cart to be a cradle cart.

After our "incident" at Cayucos where my buddy almost had to do the long swim home; I am done with scupper carts. So I modified mine, what do you think?

Before:

After:

Spent about $8 on supplies and it is pretty sturdy.
What do you think?

I could re-spool every reel at Super Walmart with all the nasty mono I pull out of the kings river in a year. It is sad how many people just plain trash the area, they are leaving their dirty nasty houses, just to do what, mess up the outdoors?  :smt013

General Fishing Tips / Re: Transporting Crab?
« on: February 07, 2013, 03:10:16 PM »
I have had luck good with burlap (newspaper and kelp) in a bucket or cooler with an ice pack over it. They will last a long time as long as they are cool and moist. That is how we kept them up in Washington state. My buddy got called on duty and couldn't cook his, so he left them on his back portch and they were all still alive and kicking almost 16 hours later when he got off watch.

Eric, you were one of the first people that offered to take me out when I joined the board.
I just want to thank you for that, I hope we get on the water again soon.
