Read through the previous reports here and on the fishsniffer.com board. Should give you a good idea where to go and what's hot. I recently posted reports for RS and the CRP on this board. CRP isn't a hot bite right now. Someone else posted a RS report not too long ago.

Hookups and Fishing Reports (Viewable by Public) / Delta Meadows 8/24/06
« on: August 24, 2006, 09:34:32 PM »
I stopped by the Delta Meadows on my way home from work tonight. On the water around 5:30pm, off by 7:40pm.
Water looked great even with a delta breeze blowing through. Hit the water and let the wind push me down the slough to the cut. Tossed various senkos, frogs, craws, hula-poppers. Got a few hits, but no bass love for me tonight.
Around 7:30ish, as if on cue the water came alive in the slough. All these tiny, little bait fish started jumping..everywhere. the water looked like it was getting rained on. It was an interesting sight.

Should he share his favorite places; the almost never-fail fishing spots?

Yes....yes he should share.

I've been looking around for a good place to launch in the delta. Checked the Lundborg web site, only $8.
That's a lot better than the $15 Paradise Point wants and Franks tract is probably better fishing.

I may give it a try over the three day weekend.  How was the power boat traffic?

Thanks for the report.

Looks like a nice morning on the lake.

The third pic down looks like the north east bank?
If so, there are some nice fish tucked into the grassy stuff to the right.

Thanks for the report.

I'm searching for my first 10 lb LMB.
I know she's in there somewhere.

This is Buzz. My Chihuahua Rat Terrier mix. The dog sticks to me like glue when I'm home.

I wanted to go to Disco today, but Danglins reports changed my mind. Loaded up and headed back to Rancho Seco.

On the water at 7:30am, off at 11:30am. A little breezy later in the morning and more boats than usual, maybe 5 or 6.
Paddled out to my favorite spot and caught 4. Caught one more as I headed back to the truck. Biggest was 15 inches. All on a 5" pumpkin Senko.

I think I'll stay away from there this weekend.
Those salmon should be heading up here soon.

I went to The State Fair today and wandered around the exhibits. One was on Calif water use and management.
They had a small display of old fishing gear.

Here's a fishing license from 1937...$2.

An old Bronson reel

A mouse or rat lure

Old wooden lures

This little piggy said he wanted to grow up to be a fishermans dinner at the Ono Grill.

Gordon, Sorry to hear you lost the big one.

I received a fishsniffer pm from one of the guys and he mentioned the swim area. I never would have guessed that was a hot area at night.

Thanks for the report links.

The other is the soon-to-be famous Mooch call.

Great videos Erik...I was expecting the Mooch turkey call.

Back in my local waters. On the water at 7:45am, off 12:30. Surf was nice and flat so it was an easy launch. :smt002

Caught 3 lmb next to the north ramp within minutes. I thought it would be a great day, but it went dead after that. Worked my way across the dam to the south shore and headed east. Caught one more on the south east side. All on Senkos and all real close to the bank. Decided to leave as the wind was picking up. Two other boats on the lake.

Caught this one in the weeds next to the bank. Fat as a football.

Eric and I had a great time. Neither of us have ever kayaked in conditions like that. A fun experience for newbies like us. He still reminds me that I rolled during landing and he pulled in like an old pro. :smt001

You are all good people. A heart felt "thank you" to everyone from both of us. :smt006
