Hey there bud.  Steve’s a neighbor or mine and a good guy .  Not a bad golfer either.  I took him twice to new Melones where he used my spare revo and that’s all it took to get him hooked.  We will be exploring the lakes he mentioned and some day I’ll drag him to the ocean to sure.

Welcome aboard bud……

So I live on the golf course at Greenhorn creek.  They closed the course last week so no golf for me or anyone else.  But that means the ponds are open.  Lived here for 2 years and never really gave it much thought especially with Melones so close.  In the last 3 days I have caught and released over 30 bass and some huge ass bluegill.  Biggest bass so far was just under 3 pounds .  Anything works so it’s real fun to try some of the oddest lures I have never used.  They bite everything but the old worm on a bobber is king.  It’s fun to jump in the golf cart and pond jump catching bass at every stop.  Stay safe everyone and we will get though all of this....

If your mooching it’s the way to go.  Otherwise I don’t think it makes any difference .  Most of the time your chovie is rigged to a rig that does all the work.  Plus a semi frozen chovie stays in one piece longer.  Ie: no belly rip.

Go get a turkey .  Picked up a 13 pounder for 22 bucks.  Spatchcock it toss it on the bbq at 300 for 2 1/2 hours.  Have a thanksgiving dinner day 1.  Next day turkey sammies for lunch.  Day 3 make turkey noodle soup.  Day 4 use the remainder of the soup and make turkey pot pies. Easy, delicious , and a fantastic way to stretch 22 bucks into 4 meals.  And as we always say why do we only have one of the best meals of the year only once a year..

Success!!!!  Made 6 gallons gave away 2 for free tastings and sold the other 4.  Made a lot of connections and have some future pop ups planned for the future.

We need a little more time and it will be available on line.

Also would love to make some and feed the NCKA crew at one of the events.  Maybe the Monterey get together ?

And away we go!!!!

Thanks FM 1.  Always a good time at the SC chowder fest.  We would make 60 gallons and serve 1600 peeps in2 hours . Making 6 gallons for tomorrow sure is easier than 60.

Some of you know that I make clam chowder.  Been competing for 10 years or so and actually won the Santa Cruz Clam chowder festival people's choice award 5 years in a row from 2013-2017.  Won the blind judges 1st place award in 2016 and have gotten most tasted many times. Flew to Orange Beach Alabama in 2017 and competed in the world food championships against every cook and chef you have ever seen on T.V. Got our asses handed to us that weekend but what an eye opener it was and a total blast.

So fast forward to today.  I retired last year and moved up to Angles Camp. Love it. Been making small batches for people starting to get the name out up here. Well I met up with Jan and Patty from the Spice tin in Murphy's. After they sampled my chowder the asked if we would do a chowder day at there cool little spice shop.

So tomorrow's the day.  1:00-4:00 we will be there giving away free samples and selling a little to make up cost.  This might be the start of going global.  lol  We are actually going to start selling it online soon so look for 4 Men and  calm and if you happen to be near Murphy's tomorrow stop on in and a say hello.

Also don't forget about the closed area .  Look at the map .  You can still go through it just not while trolling or casting.  And no you can't say your targeting another spieces.  You need your steelhead punch card, one rod only while trolling , and barbless hooks. The bridge is a good half way point.  Go up and around to the dam or down and about to the inlet/ bay.....
