Hmm this list says "chemical irritants (e.g., non-toxic pepper spray, mace) used for animal control (there are many municipal and state ordinances controlling the use and possession of these irritants)" are OK.  I'll move the bear spray from the backpacking box to the kayak box.  Has anyone had issues inside the bay or is it all off shore?

Yes.  Aren't gravel bars sometimes commonly referred to as redds - where fish spawn?

My wife and I want to go car camping next weekend & are looking for a mellow camping site without big camping vans, loud music, partying kids, etc. & preferably where the camp sites are not stacked on top of one another.  I of course would also like to fish but new to Kayak fishing want to keep it in inland waters.  I was thinking maybe Lake Sonoma but have never been there.  Any suggestions preferably within 2 hours of SF?

Thanks

Paul

My wife and I took a canoe down the russian river from around healdsburg.  There were a lot of what where either large carp or sqawfish sitting at the bottom of some pools - had some luck with bass on a popper.  Anyone know would those have been carp?

Anhui fisherman seizes a heterogeneous biology: The testudo elephantopus alligator looks like the dinosaur likely! (figure) international online

Sun Yongcheng seizes biology

A Chinese Anhui fisherman recently fished for in the lake to an unusual living thing, its head picture alligator, body likely dinosaur, but carries on the back steadily the testudo elephantopus same carapace. After local fishery department's expert appraisal indicated that this living thing belongs to the external species, very possible is only produces in Americas' big alligator turtle. Its appearance will possibly pose the threat to the local ecosystem.

The grandson will forever become (transliterates) recently catches the fishing when the Weishan lake the net to a strange living thing, “sees when it I am scared, in its net is going all out to struggle, attempts to bite open the net to escape.”This living thing length 76 centimeters, width 30 centimeters, heavy approximately 7 kilograms, as soon as looks at likely an only turtle for the first time, but the body actually has both the alligator and dinosaur's characteristic.

After local fishery department's expert appraisal believed that this living thing is very possible is only produces in the Mississippi river coast area big alligator turtle (other name alligator armor turtle), possibly some people buy the big alligator turtle from the Americas country treat as pet raising, afterward abandoned it in the lake.

This is the big alligator turtle was discovered for the first time in the local waters. Because this living thing is not the local species, its appearance will possibly pose the threat to the Weishan lake ecological environment. Actually at present wasn't the expert still clear has how many big alligator turtle to set free a captured animal in the lake.

Newby question - do you really need a VHF if all of your paddling is inside the golden gate - or will a cell phone in a waterproof package suffice as I've not been anywhere in the bay where I could not get service?  Is it just a direct line to the coast guard vs. calling 911?

Thanks

Hi new to this board and kayak fishing in general though have fished from canoes, drift boats, etc.  I have a question on launch sites.  My closest put in is Candlestick point as I live in the southern part of the city - is there a decent ramp there - or is it just best to go where the windsurfers go (I used to windsurf in my younger days) and have launched a board from there.  Also for Paradise - is the best launch site at the marina (do they charge or is there a better spot?)  I've fished over there from a larger boat but never from a yak.   Looking forward to seeing you all out there!  Thanks Paul
