I don't use Facebook, so I guess I missed the deal.

Here is one

https://sacramento.craigslist.org/spo/d/kayak/6569843220.html

I talked to the owner of this one, and he said it is a 2007 model. Is $1400 a bit high for 11 year old kayak?

Thanks for the tips guys. I don't mind spending some money on a nice yak, but at the same time I want it to be reasonable. I will probably skip this one since I don't want him to think that I am low balling him :)

I think it's little steep for 2007.
Way too high.

I am currently in the market for a drysuit. Does anyone have any experience using Stohlquist drysuit? Compared to Kokatat, it is more affordable as I can't see myself dropping another thousand after dropping a few thousand getting a Hobie. I will be using if for saltwater, so I need something that can keep me dry and warm in case I get dumped in the water. Any info will be appreciated.

I called California Kayak in Oakland and they charged 55 bucks for parts and handling fee while the parts only cost $18. $37 for shipping handling fee is a little too much. I then found this company and called them. They knew exactly what I was talking about and can ship me a set for 22 bucks. I guess shipping can take a couple more days since they are in the East coast but I can wait.

Thanks for the info. For those who may be looking for the same parts. I finally found the parts numbers, but you need to call a Hobie dealer to order since Hobie won't take any order.

86506001 - LOWRANCE ADAPTER
86506201 - TRANSDUCER SUPPORT CLIP
8050211 - NUT 10-32 NYLOCK LOPRO
86509501 - SCREW 10-32 X 1-3/4 PHMS SS

I've recently picked up a new Hobie outback, and I am trying install a lowrance hook-4 on it. However, when I was trying to install the transducer on the lowrance ready plate on the bottom of the yak, I noticed that I need the parts that are supposed to come with the owner manua that will help to secure the transducer to the plate. I have been searching for that parts for hours but couldn't find anything online. Does anyone have any ideas where or how can I buy that kit? It is the little kit that has two metal pieces and two plastic pieces. Thanks.

Hookups and Fishing Reports (Viewable by Public) / Re: inflatable kayak
« on: December 10, 2016, 08:34:29 AM »
I used an inflatable kayak (Advanced Elements Straitedge) for rock fishing a couple times when the weather condition was perfect (flat ocean and no wind). I managed to do Ok, but I think it would be challenging in bigger waves and wind, especially when the current is pulling. I would recommend not to use it for ocean fishing. However, if you decided to use an inflatable kayak, you shouldn't venture out to far. And I am talking about the more reliable inflatables such as AE or NRS. If you are using the cheaper ones from Sevylor or Sea Eagle, it is a big NO NO. It is almost impossible to handle bigger fish such as lingcod or cabezon without puncturing the kayak.

Thanks for the info guys. I will probably put in some time on a local lake first before going to the big pond.
