Here's a couple more for identification purposes. Cutthroat, Golden, and Rainbow.

Hope I get these pics right. Anyway, the less colorful is Brown, and the one with red is Brook. Yours is a nice looking fish. Headed to eastern Sierras next week to try for some large Browns at and around Mammoth Lakes. Horseshoe lake has some nice Brooks too.

Beautiful brook trout! Do you ever catch goldens out there?

Isn't that a brown? I thought Brookies had more red on there fins. At least the ones I used to catch in the southern Sierras.

Heading down there next week. Meeting my dad and hunting/fishing buddy from Socal. Dads first kayak adventure. Should be a blast. Be there for 5 days or so. Plan on hitting Mammoth, June, Gull, and a few other spots. Some stream fishing also. I know a lot of good spots. If anyone wants to meet us over there, send email and I'll let you know where we are. Some places require 4x4 and some big cahones to get to. Later, Rob

I remember being told to fish in the dark with surface lures to get them fired up. Reel in as fast as you could and hope for the best.
When we went there on weekends to ski we left well before the sun came up to get in line. Must be a lot worse now.

Those pics of Silverwood bring back memories. I used to go there with my family to ski. I always brought fishing gear and had more fun with that. I've heard stories of huge stripers coming out of there but never caught any. Your pics of the beach bring back other memories. Mainly surfing and drinking. Kinda miss that area, but would never move back. Headed down there in a few weeks to visit. May have to bring the yaks.

The SIK is for duck hunting. Blends in well with where I go.

Good idea on the loading thing. I'll give that a try.

It does have the Tarpon logo.
I'm glad she likes the kayak and not the racecar. A new kayak would be a lot more affordable than buying her a dragster and a new trailer to haul both cars. I've been racing too much lately and need to get the yak wet more often. But, I've been paying some of the bills racing. Take the good with the bad I guess.

Took my wife out a couple weeks ago for her maiden kayak voyage. She did real good right from the start in my Pungo 120. Then she wanted to paddle the T160 I was fishing from. At first I saw no real harm in that. Then.......I had to fish from the small boat the rest of the day. She wouldn't let me back on the T160. :smt010 I may need another SOT.

If it's dry on Sat I'll be at the race track. If it rains I'll be at home doing some remodel work. Sat may work though. Sun should be open and would love to hit the water with someone other than myself. Shoot me a pm with the required gear, location and time. Rob

Have plans on Sat, unless it rains, but might be interested on Sun. Where is this place? Rollins, Clemintine, Englebright, Collins. Saw a  couple yaks on Collins on Sat as I was catching several trout 2 plus pounds from an an old POS 1959 boat. Saw some 5's also.

Just finished putting rod holders and a few other items on my new to me WS Tarpon 160 DH. Maiden voyage tomorrow. Hopefully some of them big trout or bass to break in the yak. Looking for someone to go with and give me some paddling pointers. Any takers? Be out there around 2 till 8 or so. Figured while I test drive might as well drag some lures.

Hookups and Fishing Reports (Viewable by Public) / Re: Colusa sturgeon

Great area for sturgeon. Spent the night last night on shore across from Grimes(or so). A guy down river caught an oversize greenie at 3:30 pm. My buddy landed a 63 incher, 80lbs or so at midnight. I know it wasn't from a kayak, just reporting on the area. Also saw some striper starting to show on the surface, but no luck.

Hi all,
1st time posting. The sturgeon are in the Knights Landing area and north. Been getting reports from friends fishing up there. Most reports from shore, 2 from boats, not yaks. Most fish have been in the 5 foot range with a couple of 7's. I've been putting in several nights and a couple weekends, and personally have not seen fish. Ghost shrimp and eel seem to be the best. Most times together. I'll be some where between 7 miles north of Knights landing to 2-3 miles south of Meridian. Water was dropping, but not sure where it is now. It's about 8-10 lower than a couple weeks ago. If your out over the weekend in that area I'm in a grey Toy 4x4. I will be with a red white Suburban. Stop by and I'll supply the water or Pepsi. Also, stripers starting to show good in the Verona area. Been trying to find time to get my new (used) yaks to the water. Only been in my pond so far. A little afraid of sturgeon in the river though. Good hunting to all. Rob
