For the purposes of the regs, "Nearshore" is a category of rockfish species. Note the column on the right which includes lingcod still has20 fathom and inshore take allowed May-Sep and Nov.

See 3:57 in this video: Great video, which exactly fits the situation. Coincidentally, I was just in the local metal store today, and they have a bunch of 2" square aluminum tubing in their scrap bin that is exactly what I'd need to build another one, and it's super-duper-cheap. So tempted to get it jsut to prove that I can actually build one on the cheap(ish)... 4
