Yes sir!  If I were to reflect, smoked sturgeon was tasty.  Beautiful and full of battle that species... :smt006

Nice fish, Eddie.

Sturgeon is great eating and so easy to process for storage with not having to deal with rib bones.
Yes sir.  I shoulda known you'd be at Crab n' chill.  Next year for sure and I'll bring sumpin' tasty or experimental for da good grinz.  Looks like I won't bring be bringin' much sturgeon vittles unless I buy a farm raised... :smt006

Fun to catch and release, but also very tasty to eat!
Yeah! This year?  Great pic! :smt006

That one is a few years old from that one spot. Tried there a little while back for nothing. Might go again sometime this spring. Sitting at anchor is relaxing IMO
Well duh…you wouldn’t be able to take it out of the water with these new regs so I shoulda guessed a previous past pic.  See ya’ on da wattah’ at the appointed time. :smt006

One of my work clients is a pretty well known paddling expert, and I was mumbling about learning to use my core instead of my arms. He says hey I have a kayak paddling machine, and I can give you a quick lesson. Anyway it was quite enlightening but after years of just using my arms it's hard to make the change.
That’s fun.  Yes, core is the stuff.  Learned that in the old martial arts classes transferable to paddling for sure.   :smt006

I find I get the best speed when my paddles goes in at my foot, and out by upper thigh.  Thats me, you may be getting better coaching.  My wife was an instructor years ago, and when I paddle near her, she is on my mistakes.
Good stuff.  I'm about that distance from catch to exit.  I love the idea of not wasting energy.  Paddling efficiently without wasting power is my standard philosophy but if I'm out of practice I end up forcing the blade on the pull and overextending on the exit.  This break in the weather is inspiring but it is only for a day.  Go Stealth or go home! :smt006

These days are long gone.  Today would be one keelah’ sturgeon fishing day.  Low low tide at 1 up here SPB.  Lost my motivation for dis C&R species.  Oh I hope to get it back.  The stealth has yet to meet that old diamondback. :smt006

Day 3, I found a little honey hole! 7 nice keepers for dinner.
Good stuff!  Do you remember what time you sense that "the bite" when your pots filled today? :smt006

I used my 3 traps and 4 ambush nets the first day and tried to get away from all the other floats. It was a lot of moving, for 2 keepers. That night I left my 3 traps out 24 hrs and got 2 more in the same location. I then moved my 3 traps all to the same area that I had caught the keepers and the 3rd pull yesterday, I was able to get the 7. I will head out this afternoon and check them again, however, I will pull the traps as I head home tomorrow.
Thanks.  Love the detail...tempted tomorrow...

Taku from outdoor chef life certainly Deba's the head from the spine.  His knife tutorials are quite informative at least his filleting videos...

I’m a gshock guy.  This one tells the tide but I rarely reference it.  It’s kinda fun though and it’s solar charged and atomic I believe. :smt006
