We were amazed that 3 wouldn't do it. I am glad that we were on a power boat with lots of gear. I can only imagine what, those big cowcod are going to take.

I would bring at least 5 lbs and 7 is even better. A huge old yellow eye took 5 lbs at 120’.
we had a grand daddy G.E. that took 4 40oz salmon balls to get back down.

Nowhere man, I used a drip pan , like what goes under a leaky car. I did cut the rolled edges so it could slide up and under the undamaged row above the hole. I put some caulking on the bottom of the sheet and screwed it on. I see no reason to put shingles over the metal. Like the video. It is  working fine until I get around to repairing it properly.

I have the same thing from the new year's storm.I put sheet metal over the holes. I used some silicone and screws to hold it down. It worked great for temporary repair.  No leaks.  Take lots of pictures, save all receipts. Good luck!

There are logs, rocks, weeds, etc. I don't know where you are hunting, but where I go, I have busted 2 drive shafts on 2 consecutive trys. I paddle from now on. If you have kick up fins, they might help.

Peddling and duck hunting, creates broken drives. As for the color...wipe it down with lacquer thinner, primer real good and paint away. It isn't very durable, but it will help hide the color. Mud is your friend for touch up. I have a camo outback, and I smere mud on the hull,it really helps with the glare. Those are a couple take aways, from my experience.

Kayak Fly Fishing / Re: Fished Indian Valley Reservoir yesterday
« on: November 18, 2022, 09:54:23 PM »
Used to be the best koke fishery in the state. Imo. Limits to 18.5 many ,many, many times. Used to catch bruiser Eagle lake trout, there also. Then they drained it to almost nothing. It's was a real Gem. Now it resembles the rest of California . The catfish in that lake are clean, and taste great.

General Fishing Tips / Re: Preparing Crab bait
« on: November 10, 2022, 09:47:48 AM »
Spoiled bait is bad. The fresher the better. Frozen bait will be thawed in a few minutes in the water. If anything it helps keeps the smell on the bottom ,where the crabs are at.
