This is a 2013 model...excellent boat for guiding...about as safe as a kayak that can be found. Amazing stability.

For Sale / Hobie Oasis for Sale
« on: February 14, 2023, 02:03:38 PM »
Time to move the Oasis on. It's in excellent condition. It has been stored inside. 2 seats 2 paddles 2 kick systems w/turbo fins. I'm the original owner. Super fast boat with two paddlers and can be easily operated by solo paddler.

glad you're ok...worst nightmare there is...good job on preparedness

I've been fishing it fairly regularly recently and its been overwhelmingly shakers for me lately. And as noted above, winds and tides have been working their magic. But there are good tide windows in between and some fish being caught... there also has been considerable more boat and people traffic at ARW this year, so arrive early you're not blowing up anybody's spot....good luck

General Talk / Re: Which Hawaii Island
« on: August 08, 2014, 05:49:28 PM »
Just spent 10 days on Maui...I mostly shore fished with so so luck...mostly family vacation. The locals were fishing for I believe it's called Ono. They were setting up anywhere from 6 to 15 poles fanned out in all directions... Big gear shore fishing....using a kayak to run the lines out 200 -300 yards off shore and then posting up almost all weekend (2-3 days)....this was going on everywhere. I believe it's real hit or miss depending on what's running near shore. No license required...as many rods as you want...you can camp on the beach without permit as long as you are fishing

General Talk / Re: Ocean newbies on a tandem?

I've got a hobie tandem I use regularly with my buddy and my son. My buddy and I go on the ocean quite often. Hardest part is launching if its a beach break...takes a little practice with timing the waves and getting into the boat...good luck

Hobie Kayaks / Re: Hobie Revolution 13 prices new
« on: June 19, 2014, 12:03:15 PM »
I bought my hobie from CCK in oakland and they gave me discount on all the hobie accessories...10%...they even took the boat to my house for me...seeing as I live in Alameda it was no big deal for them, but for me that was great customer service.

General Talk / Re: Started stripping roof
« on: April 16, 2014, 05:01:17 PM »
Those solar panels can kill...use caution when removing to get to the roof below...solar panels are live when exposed to the sun and potentially carry excess load even when not exposed to the sun.
