Wow Jim, that is very cool and touching!! :D Definitely Brent's and Eric's fathers would be happy, along with all of us who have been affected by this.

From the bottom of our hearts, "THANK YOU!!"!! :D

Tried to make my way to the finish line by Lincoln but finding parking was impossible. So I made my way down and found a spot by the Zoo. Took a long hike towards the 17 mile marker (by Ortega ave) and waited for a Ana and Big Jim sighting. Unfortunately I missed 'em both  :BangHead:

Here are some pics....

Despite the cold and rain, the men and women braved the conditions!

Mooch, thank you for the update brother!! :D I wish that I could have been there to support our dear brother and sister for their tremendous effort, but I was not able to leave my business since I was short of employees.

Sucks that you missed them, they must be fast!! :D

Jim & Ana, wtg on completing a whole marathon. There's no way in hell I'd be able to do that! What you both did is so noble, you guys rock! :D

As for you three, much love goes out to y'all!!

Yeah!!!!!!!

I did it!!   :smt002 :smt003 :smt044 :smt044 :smt044

THANK YOU Joel for coming out to cheer me on...it means a lot to me, and I am really sorry we missed each other....I am thinking I had already passed Mile 17 by the time you got there??

The whole weekend was AMAZING....great Inspiration party on Saturday night...found out that Team in Training participants raised over $13 million for Cancer research just for this one event!!
 :smt007 :smt007 :smt007 :smt007 :smt007 :smt007

TOUGH race....pretty sure that was the toughest thing I have ever done... :smt010

Started out at a pretty quick pace, probably too quick for me and shouldn't have tried to keep up with my fellow Team Mooch members Juan and Miguel, but was feeling pretty good until mile 19/20 and then the wheels started to fall off... :smt009

There was a sign out there that said "The first 20 is all legs...the last 6.2 is ALL HEART"...I agree 100%...physically I was DONE, it was now raining hard and windy and cold and I just wanted to say F*CK this and sit down and hang my head and cry....

But I knew the reason I was doing this was for a bigger cause and that people fighting Cancer go through a lot more....

Kept thinking of the names of the people I had on my shirt and kept putting one foot in front of the other...for their honor and for their memory...

I was on about a 4:45 pace, but slowed down so much at the end that finished in 5:10...my other full Marathon in Victoria I got 4:45, but the course was a lot flatter, the conditions were a lot better and I had trained a LOT more!!

Juan finished in 4:42 and Miguel in 4:18!!! Those guys are speedy little devils!!   :smt002 :smt003

After...back to the hotel for hot showers, cold beers and football on TV, then a Victory Dance party at the Moscone with a very impressive performance that involved feats of strength and sexiness...fun stuff!!

Today could barely get out of bed, but a few beers and bloody marys gave me the strength to check out and go get a nice lunch and a cold Toña at a Nicaraguan restaurant we like on Mission!!

Just wanted to share what my buddy Miguel wrote to me and my other friends from Mandilón Inc. today...thought it was pretty cool!!

Quote
Mandilones,

Thanks to all of you who wished Juan, Jim and I good luck on our run. We finished the entire marathon yesterday and even though it was painful  it sure felt great at the end just to be able to cross the finish line! Not to mention that there were about 300 of us men and about 19, 000 women! Thanks Jimbo for letting us be part of Team Mooch and do this run in Mooch’s honor. I wish mooch the best and hope he can beat this disease! I know that our pain running was nowhere compare to what he and his loves ones are going through! I also wish that more Mandilones would make the commitment of getting off their couches and started running for their lives! Running= a healthier Mandilon!  I know sometimes we feel this is such a stupid or dumb idea,  but when you are out there and see why people run, it feels great that we are part of something so special!

Last but not least, thank you Jimbo for hosting us after the run in your hotel room. The hot shower and cold beers were priceless! Please thank Ana as well for been a great host. Compa Juan, thanks for driving! I know that limited your Coors Light intake but it really help mine!

Here is a link to a bunch of pics from the weekend and some of my faves...

THANK YOU once again to Mooch and to all of NCKA for being so supportive and encouraging with this adventure...it means a lot to me.

Sincerely,

Jim

Big Jim, Ana, and the rest of Team Mooch Congrats on finishing the race. I had a great view of the race from my living room window. I live on Clement next to the golf course. Enjoyed watching the race until I had to get ready for work.

Once again congrats and excellent job my friends.

I am impressed dude, and will be giving it a shot.  Three friends I've known since Michael Jackson was black decided we should have "a running of the bull$(hit)" at the Seattle Marathon on June 25, 2011.  So i reg'd and now have 36 weeks to get jocked up.  I started drafting my program last night.  Its ambitious, but should be fun.  Hell if Oprah and Diddy can do a marathon...

But i've never run one, and running has always been the weakest link in my multisport program.  I'm sure the last thing you are thinking of right now is running anymore. B ut one of these days, when you get the hankering, let me tag along on one of your tried and true routes, something that really lets you know that you are ready.  that way i can get some calibration b/t race day and training from the marathon master.

Diddy ran one?

Actually, he jumped on his assistant's back and told her she had to run it for him piggyback style, otherwise he would fire her then bust a cap in her a$$
