Thanks Janice help with BBQ is always appreciated.  So I think we are on for the weekend of the 14-15th.  Just need to decide which day.  If I can get some consensus
then we can set the final date.  I was thinking the Sunday would be better so folks wouldn't have to hussel out after work on Friday and those that can could pre-fish saturday.

I talked to Jim, I think the 14-15th is best for us as well.  Although I'm scheduled to get my last two remaining wisdom teeth yanked on the 10th, so you'll have to excuse me if my jaw is puffy and I mumble a bit.

As opposed to what??? :smt044
Sounds like a good time. Count me in.

So bsteves and convinced me that Saturday would be better so that folks could stay and relax at the BBQ rather than have to shove off for home on Sunday Eve.  So thinking saturday would be best.  We were thinking of a Angler of the Day format.  Anywhere in Sonoma Co is open, that way if we get blown out we can head inland for lake action.  Points from Angler of the Year format apply.  If you want you can bring you camera and enter pix rather than bring the fish back if you like, but you have to prove/have confirmation that the photo was taken the day of the event.  I have room for 10+ tents, but parking is a little tight.  I can also put people in the barn game room, but bring a pad or blow-up mattress cause the floor is cement.  Entry will be $20 a person and top three anglers will take home percentages of the entry.  I don't have much in the way of picnic tables or chairs so keep that in mind for BBQ-bring something to sit on.  Let me know what you all think and I will start a list of people who are planning to come.

Hey Jim,  you should repost this as a new thread with a better title to get more exposure.
Maybe add a poll to gauge interest.

As for photo confirmation for those wishing to C&R, you should assign an object during registration to be in the photo ala Jim Sammon's "Everyone's Kayak Fishing Tourney".

I'll create a map of Sonoma county and mark some of the likely launch spots and what you might catch at each.  Maybe we can do a quick survey when everyone gets back to help gauge different kayak launch spots for the MLPA.

Oh, and I think we should consider having a bonfire on the beach Saturday night after the potluck?

That would be da bom  :smt045

Seems like bon fires are illegal on every beach in San Mateo county - that stupid rule sucks  :smt011

Bonfires are illegal at most of the beaches in Sonoma County too.  The nice thing about the beach in front of Jim's place is that it's a rare private hold out.  It's an odd little gap in the Sonoma Coast State Beach that runs from Bodega Head to Jenner.

Here's a link to the Sonoma Coast State Beach brochure.  On page 6 there is a map and you can see Gleason Beach, a big gap and then Portuguese Beach. Jim lives across from the gap.  Oh and the map is pretty accurate regarding the big rocks along the coast.

There's info on camping in there as well.

This will be fun.  Glad you decided on Saturday... I can do that.  I am having fishing withdrawls with the wind and swell we've been having in recent weeks.  Thanks Jim for offering to host... you have some nice digs there.

Looking forward to it!!!

This sounds awesome.  I hope to be able to make it.  Really hoping to fish areas north (and south) of what will most likely be my primary fishing grounds (San Mateo Coast).
