Have you checked with Claveys in Petaluma or kayak city in Sacramento?
Clavey doesn't sell Jackson, I'll have to look into kayak city. Thanks

Jackson Kayak / Where can I find a CUDA LT
« on: December 28, 2017, 08:27:14 PM »
I'm interested in getting a CUDA LT.  I've been trying to find a dealer that carries them with know luck. I've even contacted Jackson Kayaks and was told it's a hard kayak to find. Does anyone on here possibly have an idea where to find one?

Key is to get an "I" talian wetsuite, probably made some  old mafia members basement by grandkids.  Rumor is they are the best.

If he feels that good in the water he may keep looking until he gets a scallop limit.
ouch...lol

Great video. I have tried to keep an eye out for scallops when ab diving but I can never spot em.
once you know where they hang out their not to hard to find. The hard part is getting them of the rock.

Kayak Diving and Spearfishing / Mendo dive April 18th
« on: April 20, 2017, 10:29:58 AM »
Last Tuesday made it up to Mendo to go diving with DG and Gio. We launched out of Russian Gulch headed south with no real place to dive on are minds but to scout around and explore the area. Found a nice location with good structure to take the first drop. Slapped on my new fiberglass fins (used only once before to chase down my kayak in strong winds) and hopped in. It was a nice warm 54 degrees a little surgy with 20+ vis. Things started to happen fast. On my 3rd dive in about 20' of water dropped down and spotted a really nice ling. Unfortunately he saw me to and took off. So I swam in its general direction on the surface and spotted some great crevice. Dropped down looked around and paused, looked around a minute and there's my first fish of the day! Speared straight through the side of the head.
Picked up shop and relocated to find another area. Was trying to find some rock fish to shoot that I promised my wife I'd get. On my 10th dive of the day I spotted a nice ling from the surface cruising by. I didn't quite have my breath back so I figured I'd distract it with a bobbing gun while I breathed up. Got to love good vis! The technique worked and was able to land another nice ling.
Wasn't seeing much of any other type of fish in the area so decided to relocate ones again. We paddled out to some nice structure to do some deeper drops in the 40' to 50' range. I was really excited about this so I could really check out my new fancy fins. I don't know why I waited so long but did you know fiberglass fins are way better than plastic ones? Lol. This area I could see lots of blues while I was floating around so felt really good about this area. Dive number 16 for the day I descend through a big school of blues then the fish die off on the way down. There is a layer of nothingness  then I could start to see the bottom.  I start scanning the bottom and actually see a little school of vermilion. The biggest one takes off from the school and heads for a rock. Was able to follow and make the shot. I can tell 2 things right away. It was the biggest Verm that I've came across so far. 2, it was a terribley placed shot and it was about to get away. I quickly gripped the fish as it was thrashing around and was able to tuck it in my arms like a football to the sureface. I quickly caught my breath and started yelling for Duane and Gio to come over hoping they could grab some Verm off the school below me. Unfortunately I think I just sounded like a crazy excited person who just shot a nice fish.  :D
After that the rest of the day was just gravy, spotting more lings and pulling scallops.
Here's some video of the day.

Nice score!

That little pneumatic gun kills em in the tight spots. :smt007
What gun is that?

I could've used something like that for a big ass ling last Sat.
Couldn't position my RA 700 right to take a good shot.  :smt009

Thanks for the report.

Antonio
I use the Mares sten mini on murky days and the mares sten med on nice "clear" days for better range. They never let me down so far.

great video. A man of a lot of hobbies.
 congrats on your PB .
I need to get out.
What do you have your camera attached too.
Thanks,
Tim
Thanks. Right now I either have it on a head strap or attached to my gun using a mount made for bike handle bars.

It's been a great month of diving off the coast of Sonoma and Mendocino this Feb. The windows have been small but big enough for some decent diving.

Jackson Kayak / kraken rudder
« on: February 24, 2016, 04:43:04 PM »
I just installed a rudder on my kraken and triedit out today. As soon as I tried to use it a cable came out of the rudder and went back into the cable guide in the kayak. For some reason I couldn't push it back through the cable guide. So I pulled it all the way  back out to see what  was going on and found the cable is frayed. So I trimmed it a little but can't get it back through because it's still a little frayed. Does someone got any good advice on getting the cable through the cable guide or do I have to get a brand new cable?

Introductions / Hello
« on: February 23, 2016, 09:13:24 PM »
Hello I'm new to this forum. I've met a few of the people on this forum out on the water. I mostly like to spearfish from my kayak  (JK Kraken) but sometimes when the visibility is just to bad or I need a little break I like to drop a line. I wanted to join the DOTY competition this year, so here I am. Hope to meet a bunch of you on the water!
