sackyak and I both have turned to the darkest side of powerboats. But ever the rebel, he hides his boat from the city in a special way

I'm always amazed that even with a relatively short time in the pens the smolts are able to imprint on HMB and return as adults to try to spawn, with really nowhere to go.

Kayak Diving and Spearfishing / Anyone Diving -Monterey 5/11 or 5/12?

Hello,
It's been more than few years  since my last spearfishing. But I plan to head down to Monterey and dive either Still Water or Fan Shell if conditions are right tomorrow morning but can also do Sunday. Wondering if any other spearos will be around and if anything has changed in Still Water cove in terms of entering and using facilities.

Get an older Ocean Kayak Prowler 13.

They can carry a  lot but are light and sturdy so if you drop it it's not a big deal. You see them on Craig's list occasionally for a good price. I keep mine for rocky shore launches and lake fishing.

Also quite a good paddler with very decent stability. Very seaworthy.  One of the best designs ever.

I’ve helped out in the past and will plan to be there this year.

For you DIY’ers, the pen is a huge PVC pipe construct. One of the Coastside folks figured it out a while back.  It reminds me of a giant version of the kayak rack I built in my backyard.

I've got one that we use for cleaning bicycle chains, which means it is in near constant use around here. Work amazing. Now I'm gonna toss all those spoons and flashers in it!
