General Talk / Re: Gold vs Silver
« on: July 28, 2022, 10:05:47 AM »
Anyone else following this?

Just started stacking last September 2021 and progressing well. Have learnt a lot and will share later.
But here's an input from known stacker:
------

According to research.
Calculations are not mine.
Three top percentages of privately held silver, worldwide. (People like all of us here). No corporate or banks, etc, are included.
Rankings.
To be in the top 20%
41 to 54 oz
Top 5%
132 to 176 oz
Top 1%
406 to 541 oz

So if you own at least any of those amounts of Silver bullion, and this was only figured on bullion, you are doing quite well when it comes to silver and the worldwide privately held asset!!!

Just prayed for you now: God's touch on your body & for fast healing & recovery.

It was me, I am happy to be alive. At trauma center now, fractures everywhere, including some Ls that are a mess. Hopefully I get to update everybody if I make it.

Hobie Kayaks / Re: Is this equipment enough??
« on: July 16, 2022, 07:38:00 PM »
I'll be practicing tomorrow with my kayak doing beach launches.  I hope I don't flip in the surf but I will have no equipment to damage or lose.  Just getting wet will be fun.

Mike,
One of the hardest things to learn is getting  back on the kayak after flipping. So that would be good to find a way to practice it. Seen yakers at HMB not able to get back on after flipping.
I did my 1st practice at a friend's swimming pool.
I flipped my AI twice at Bolinas. Got back on after 2 flips and then went fishing. Thanks to "gabekap" who help me gather some of my stuff and the surfers as well.
Thus the need to prepare all your stuff for the flip:
1. Fishing poles and other gears secured/leased.
2. Paddle leased.
3. Lease all the other stuff you don't want to lose.
Hopefully don't happen but having the experience is a good plus & ego booster.
Hope that helps.
Danny

Anyway, my favorite fishing spot was putting out at Stillwater Cove by the tennis club off of 17 mile drive. Does anyone know if we can still do that? It was such a great spot to launch from. I will definitely be looking for some fishing buddies to go out with, all of mine have moved  :smt009  I do need to stop watching You Tube videos of sharks attacking kayaks.......

Yes, the Cove is my favorite spot as well &  still accessible. Weekends though are terrible so you have to come early. Weekdays are a lot better. I'll give you a shout when I'll be there.
$10.50 for gate entrance. During weekends, they block the visitor entrance if you come very early but I still drove thru and told the gatekeeper I'm heading to the beach/pier/dive shop and he let me go in after paying the fee. in cash vs the regular credit card.

General Talk / Re: commercial fishing

Then I believe there's another license to sell direct to the public, and then it's whole fish only. Past whole fish only then you're into processing with what I imagine is another "whole lotta" regs and fees.  Right now you can get whole salmon legally off the boat for $12-14/# gutted and gilled but has to be whole fish.

Just passed by HMB pier after a walk (grounding) at San Gregorio State beach last Saturday.
The salmon is priced right but did not buy coz the smallest was 15# @ $12 a pound.
Instead bought a 5# halibut @ $10 a pound. Live @ $12 a pound.

Glad you're finally in Bro. Was wondering when you're going to get hooked.
When do you want to go next?
