Oh great.  Feeding time for the non-indigenous striped bass.  I would bet the striped bass does more damage to Chinook population than all the salmon fishermen on the west coast.

Dan, welcome.  Curious however.  If your knees are not in the best shape, is the Hobie PA a good choice for your major investment?  Of course perhaps the pedaling could be therapy for the issue.

Sent into the secondary inspection after a hot two day drive up Baja headed home.  Custom woman wanted to look in the hulls of all the kayaks.  Mine first.  She popped the hatch of my Outback and could not get off her ladder quick enough.  Apparently I'd left a trigger fish in the hull.  She released us immediately and sent us on our way!

Sorry, but it's quite a bit out of my way.  Hope someone comes up with a solution.  If they do, should be seeing you this weekend.

Have a safe voyage on the Shogun. Just be sure not to accept drugs from crewmembers.

And just like that..... I'm offended by your attempt at amusement, spreading lies and hatred.
Humor is best when it is based on a grain of truth.

General Talk / Re: COVID After Effects
« on: December 27, 2021, 04:19:44 PM »
First of all, I am not here to start a vax/anti-vax debate.  I simply want to relay a warning.
PAY ATTENTION TO WEIRD PAINS after you have recovered from Covid.  I came down with Covid mid October.  It hit me and the wife pretty hard, my son was back to normal in 3 days.  While I was sick, I started developing stomach issues (I have never had stomach issues before). The discomfort led to pain and then debilitating pain.  I ended up having severe clotting in the vessels that provide blood flow to the liver and small intestine.   According to the Dr, blood clotting is becoming a major secondary issue in the weeks following recovery from covid. again, I am not interested in a debate.  This is just a warning.  Pay attention to issues/symptoms that surface after you have recovered from Covid.  I was lucky.  Others have not been.

Had you been vaccinated for covid?

The people who live in Shelter Cove are there because they don’t want to be around a bunch of city folks. I’m sure they will respect & appreciate your considerate approach. I still plan to make a few trips up there next year and spend $$ at local businesses and catch epic fish…I just won’t be there at the same time as 200 of my kayak-fishing friends.

Sounds like you're speaking for the locals there.  Maybe you should appreciate their position and do what I'm doing, leave them alone and fish elsewhere.

Who would be in charge of making sure everyone at the event location has the jab?  Who has the power to keep not-participants from being at the location of the event?

Return it to the store with the request that the first person who ask for it gets it.  That way it might attract more shoppers to the Salinas Tackle Box looking for a bargain.
