General Talk / Re: Pyramid Lake NV Intel?
« on: June 04, 2016, 09:44:31 AM »
Hi Bill,
I live 15 mins from the lake and fish it a lot.
I troll the lake with spoons ,apex, castmasters(gold).
this time of year the fish are going deep.
they spawned in late April and the water skiers are starting to show up.

I fish it like trolling for salmon with a mid to small pink lady with a small flasher with a yellow with red spots spoon (large).
I  paddle the kayak at close to 2 mph.

with a new moon I have had up to 30 hook ups in about 1.5 hrs of fishing starting about 2 hrs b4 sunset.
first hour in the morning can be a red hot bite also.

a lot of fly fisherman from ladders all along the west shore of the lake.
I just fish from my kayak.

Yes Wheeleze 30cm polyurethane tire/wheel (the good ones) comes with various shaft sizes, here is the one for 1 inch,

http://secure.ultracart.com/cgi-bin/UCEditor?ADD=WZ1-30UC&MERCHANTID=WZINC

If you're going to go that route make sure they fit your cart and that you have clearance for the yak, at 30 cm they will stickup 15cm (about 6") above the axle also they are fat and may fit onto your axle but the axle might not stick out far enough to go thru the wheel without the wheel hitting the cart.

Ask me how I know these things?

Wheelezw sell lots of parts, just not frames  :smt012

http://www.wheeleez.com/

your right the axle is only3-1/2"
thanks

I'd love to pull together a list of all the kayak cart threads someday.  :smt044 They all end the same. :smt005 Wheeleez should offer NCKA a direct buy option at discount as well.  :smt002

It all ends the same in an unfortunate way.  I think like 95% of the people will recommend big beach wheeleez, yet the OP will usually opt for some different wheels.    :smt012

Hopefully 4est will consider the input of the members here!   :smt003

This was exactly what I ask for,
thank you all for your input.

Dos anyone know if there will be a wheeleez sales rep at the GSX in May?

The C-tug cart that I have now has 1" shafts, dos anyone know if the wheeleez come in that size or are they 3/4"?
be sweet to have that cart with the wheeleez.

I'm looking for the pros and cons of the Malone 8" rover wheel, and the same with the 30cm wheeeleez.
and which one will perform better in the soft sand, and last the longest in the worst environment.

I have a c-tug that has a 1" wheel shaft for the kiwi wheels.
I cant find a 6-8" wheel that will work.
so looking at other options.

Any thoughts?
Thanks 4est

Hey Eric,

Was reading earlier posts about your hike and dive to Gitchell cr. sounds like a great time.
I have to leave Sunday, but the last time I was there it was the last year you could drive to gitchell.
I brought my son and the quad. I hiked him to big flat to show him my play ground when we lived in Fortuna.
when I was 20 I hike from the trailhead to shipman cr. shot a 3 point buck and packed it back to gitchell were some guys gave me a lift back.
that weekend with my son it was his first ocean experience he was 8,it was a pretty low slippery tide.
got my abs and a couple of scallops when the tide came in. I would rather dive than pick.
Black sands is were I have many fond memories.
It will be good to go home.
Thanks for putting on such an event and helping me by referring me to the NCKA
Look forward to meeting you

I want to participate in this event, I need a sponsor for myself and my buddy Brett.
we both have years of paddle experience and have we are both certified divers with international down time.
I have a ok prowler big game, he has a Old Town Predator.
my equipment is a Icon 73 VHF, and sonar gps.
we both live 15 minutes from Pyramid lake home to the world class Lahontan Cutthroat trout.
I've been trolling lures 2-3 days a week some weeks everyday. when you have 20-50 hookups in a day well I need say no more about that addiction.

I lived in Fortuna for 32 years b4 moving to Reno. Have been an outdoorsman for all my adult life.
I have not caught a salmon with my kayak , but I have caught a 10 pound cutthroat , and have dive from it for abs and have speared fish from it.
looking forward to more ocean fishing with it.
All my 10" abalone have come from Humboldt county.
gonna get another one this year, anybody want to go?
would like to get to know the like minded folks in this community.
If you would like to help me with a sponsorship please give me a call
775-750-8153
Thanks
