During the mid-October assault on Fort Ross and Stump beach, while at Fort Ross I inadvertently captured the Fort Ross area native pictured below stealing  :smt009 an under-ling before I could release it.  At the time I did not realize what had taken the fish.  It spooked me a bit  :smt107.  I was holding the rod in one hand, the camera in the other, balancing in the swell, peering the the viewfinder, a ruckus a few feet in front of me ... you all have been there... and in flash the fish was gone.  It was not until later when I was looking at the photos when I realized I had caught the culprit just a split second before the theft, see the close up below.  Since the fish was not legal I probably wont press charges or file suit.
