Don't forget to file the spurs created from drilling  holes or you'll shred your bait.

Hi Yaker:

I made a tube from 4" x 24" ABS Sch. 40 ASTM 628 Cellular core(Floats) with threaded Female and matching Male end caps w/ floating boat line and brass Clips  for about $20. A foam pad in the  end cap inside will prevent a bleeding nose while hauling ass to the next drift.
You may use whatever Dia. to Min. Drag. The Tube  keep a 1/4  $5.0 scoop alive for approx. 3-4 Hrs. ,six green back Macks. last all day.
I drilled (4) 1/2 Dia Holes on 2 1/2" Centers for the endcaps and several 1/2 Dia. holes thru the tube both sides , EyeBall Center line approx 6" . To secure the line I drilled  1/4 hole above the endcaps Counterbore but, below the threads where the tube bottoms out. I use the line needle to pull the front endcap  Safety line to, secure it to the tow line loop. I  also made a Tow line with Brass clips.  The procedure is  like the finger cuff I would buy as a kid. You may also use a "Eye Splice"

I would take more pics. but the setup, reducing the Pixel size and uploading is starting to feel like work.
P.S. Do I get a T-shirt Bill?    :smt005 My name is Jimmy, I'll take anything you gimie!                                                                                        Ernie

Do rolled-up sandabs fit in there?
