I am shopping for gloves and I was looking at 3mm kevlar gloves.  The salesman told me the kevlar gloves will last longer than the other gloves.  Any advice?

The Kevlar gloves are definitely good gloves and worth the money as long as they are not too bulky when you are moving your fingers. when i worked at the dive shop those gloves lasted longer than the traditional seamed at the fingertips ones since as a freediver you would probably use hands to stabilize on a reef and grab things.

i have seen them in 5mm and 3 mm but for myself with small hands a 5mm glove is a no go. i feel like im wearing mickey mouse gloves.

3mm is ok though.

try to get one with a long gauntlet that will go over the wetsuit. some gloves come out short and leave a gap where water can get in and make you chilly. they should fit snug and have good flex, they will be more flexible once you get em in water too as all neoprene does.
