I said to my self that if I can set up my Eagle Cuda 350 on my Revo without using a drill, I can do it to my T13.
Also take advantage of the RAM fish finder mount its attached to.
Bought a new Cuda 300 at West Marine mainly for its transducer.  For $79 I now have a back up unit versus paying $65 for an extra transducer alone.
I decided on a RAM locking suction base with 1 inch ball that would sit inside the sonar storage compartment.
(Copied this from NCKA bro Lucky 13).
This suction base holds solid, I can pick up half the kayak while holding the ball.
I went for a in hull transducer mount using foam and marine goop.  Then tied the cables to the scupper hole post.
Just like on my Revo, the cables go over the bow hatch cover.

Love it!  I've never put a hole in my Hobie either ;)  I'd suggest a leash for the FF though, since it could pop off if you flip over.

The Outback has rod holders up front ;)  all other mods i've done are just to the crate.  My camera mount, horizontal pole holders, downrigger, etc all are mounted to my crate.  Then I used the same RAM mount for my FF  as shown above.  No holes ;)

Good point, I like to put the FF inside the front hatch during a launch and re-entry.  It only takes a few seconds to take it out.  Yes it can definitely pop off, ouch if that happens. :smt005

Why anyone would chose to keep the transducer in the hull when the scupper is an awesome place is beyond me. I have stuffed rods and reels in the hull when landing in touchy situations and the placement of anything the interferes with quick gear storage is not what OK had in mind. The seal on the front hatch is also compromised by the cables going over the lid seal. Not that its a great seal anyways, it needs all the help it can get.I do like the suspended battery holder.

I own an Eagle Cuda (Lowrance) and my transducer does not sit too well within the scupper hole. The OK transducer holes are designed for Humminbird FF's which is owned by the parent company of Ocean Kayak, Johnson Outdoors. That's why Humminbird's are plug and play for OK. The rod storage was an initial concern, but after trying it out, its really not a problem. Its real easy to move my fishing rod tips around a single wire and gooped transducer, just point away from them.   See picture 5, there is lots of room to place multiple fishing rods. My dry bag with emergency gear gets in the way more when storing my fishing rods.

The seal on the front hatch is also compromised by the cables going over the lid seal. Not that its a great seal anyways, it needs all the help it can get.I do like the suspended battery holder.
As with my Hobie and with the same set up, it has never been a concern.  AlsHobieOutbacK replied above having the same setup on his Outback. So do numerous other ncka folks I fish with. Even with wires, the one inch lip and rubber seal under the hatch does its job of keeping water out. Its common to see bilge pumps and hawg troughs strapped on top. Thus I achieved - No Holes and a simple system that works.

:smt115 :smt115  I think this idea calls for Ocean Kayak to look into making an upgrade for another small watertight hatch just above the sonar shield for the fishfinder battery/wires.  What do you think?  Should that hatch be on the inside (flushed with the kayak like both shields) or outside of the existing area?
