Planted some Tomatoes up the River then grabbed the Mini-X and the dog and headed up river to do a short drift the wind was blowing pretty hard so we decided to just walk down river. Caught a few smallies up to about 14" then on the walk back found a couple of arrow heads and a nice spearpoint. Saw a few larger fish stating to bed up.

Mike you bring the best stuff wherever you go. Congrats on the finds. After I saw Allens spearpoint. I thought that was pretty uncommon. Do you find them all the time? Thanks for posting, Craig

Mike-

You've got a great eye for those things. I took my boys looking for not the other weekend. We found lots of obsideon though. Even tried to make our own...

Can't wait to give it another go out there.

I can usually find a couple of arrowheads or scrapers but Spearpoints are very rare.
The Russian River/Dry Crk Valley was a big time trading route back in the day and there are a lot of Indian Sites under Lake Sonoma. The Sebastapool area was a huge hunting ground if you can find a box canyon you will find some pretty nice points. most of the stuff I find is pretty beat up from the river. Here is a pretty cool site with a lot of finds from the west.http://www.westernartifacts.com/farwest.htm

WOW, I have never found anything that cool in my life!   I have always just thought that all that could be found are already taken!

  Hey Mike
Way cool!! I'm on that beach every day putting people out on the river and I look for points all the time so far no love.  During the 1840's their were 200-300 Indians living on Digger's Bend. I think they were Wapo or Pomo the white settlers call them Diggers. One time I found a willow fish trap while digging in a mud bank looking for baby Lampray eels. I was blown away it had to be 150 years old and looked like it was made the week before.
