Will the 500 series Humminbird fish finders fit into the sonar compartment of the Tridents, and can they be folded down and stood away or are they to big.
Thanks

Hey Pat, did you just buy the trident13? If so, where did you buy it and how much? How do you like the ride? Sorry for all the question. I am saving up some
money for it that's why.

Jemdo yes I just ordered one from Aquan Sports in San Carlos the going price is 1000.00 for the angler model, but got 10% off that because I belong to a great web site NCKA, all members will get 10% off kayaks and stuff. I test paddled it at there boat house and fell in love with it :smt007 it did not track as well and it was not as fast as my 160i but was more stable and easer the turn. I like the boat so much I came home that night and but mine up for sell and sold it the next day, then bought the Trident 13. My wife said I can only have one kayak or I would not have sold my 160i :smt010 but the money had to come from some were. I should be getting it soon can't what to drill some holes in it.

Thanks Pat, I appreciate the information. What color did you get and did the yak

I have a trident 15 with a humminbird 580 ff/gps combo and it fits in the sonar shield and fold over for storage.  The trident 13 looks to have the same size sonar shield so I assume it would work there as well

The 500 series fits fine.  I initially thought the whole Sonar Shield thing was kinda goofy...after using it it is killer.  It is sooooo ez to fold everything closed, punch through the surf zone, and fold everything up...awesome!

Thanks SBD I glad to hear you say that about the sonar shield because I was thinking the same thing, kind of a wast of space but I guess once you use it it grows on you :smt003.

Its more versatile than to think.  It is also works well as a coffee/granola/sandwich shield  :smt003

It looks like you've got the transducer mounted in the scupper, does it hang down below the body line, that is does it pick up debris?

Diroblo on the Tridents one of the scuppers is molded just for a Thur the hull transducer it will fit flush with the bottom of the yak.
