I've recently read of sturgeon being caught in San Pablo Bay and by the Mothball fleet.

Not sure sharky but I don't think the bay is a good place to fish for sturgeon this time of year
more than likely we will be going to Montezuma on Monday, I think you would have a chance at a bass to
we can bring smelt to and some ghostshrimp  :smt007let me know if you want to go

Give Benicia bait shop a call,

Not too long ago Bank Rats were getting them off Point Pinole.  Hell of a launch situation though,

Can u say Elk 2.....?

If I were to try for a Dino right now, Monty's would be my Guess,

 just so easy.... :smt045

Sounds Like MonteZuma to me then,

If I get Monday off, that might be entertaining, butt I need fish meat in the freezer, so a Quick Richmond

artifical try might be in the cards,.. tide is low at richmond:smt012

Here is Monty's on Monday...

Day        High      Tide  Height   Sunrise    Moon  Time      % Moon
           /Low      Time    Feet    Sunset                    Visible

M    1     High   3:59 AM     4.8   6:38 AM    Rise  8:39 AM      1
     1      Low  10:44 AM     0.3   7:37 PM     Set  8:23 PM
     1     High   4:45 PM     4.8
     1      Low  11:15 PM     0.8

This makes Monty's a little more interesting..

Go with the flow out to the Red Barn area  mile and a half....

and then ride the tide back in to the launch,

Or just Hang in Front of " The Cabanas "  Rest and relaxation... :fish4

There are always some sturgeon to be found in Montezuma year round , I've caught plenty over the years and 99% have been downstream (west) of the Monte Bridge . If your thinking about stripers try trolling a rattletrap right of the shore in minimum of 7-8' of water . I use a medium blackbass outfit and that can be some kickass action and fun , mostly 4-7 lb. fish , but every now and then a 20 pounder will spice things up !

Color of rattletrap ? I perfer black /silver or blue/silver but have caught them on every color I have . One time the wife wanted to use a bright yellow one with a black head that I got at Walmart for under a buck on clearance , told her she would not catch anything on that ugly thing . Well , she did and more than one ! Good Luck , even a smaller keeper sturgeon ought to give you a nice ride on your kayak !

About two years ago I fished in a sturgeon tournament in mid-September, and although I caught nothing, most of the fish that were caught were found at the mouth of Montezuma Slough at Honker Bay and in the deep water channel halfway between Pittsburgh and the entrance to Montezuma. Sounds like you're on the right track!

So looks like we are going to just do a live bait out of Berkley,
I plan to leave my truck at the ARW and we will take Dave's car to Berkley and fish are way back
to the wall where my truck will be waiting, there have been good reports from TI on halibut and
the ARW should be a productive to.

good luck to all that fish tomarrow  :smt007
