I've been talking to BrianG and we figure together we can handle bringing an extra eight kayaks from the beach to the parking lot at the top of the hill this year.  BrianG has been training for triathlons and I, well, I've been chasing after my 2 year old son so we're both in pretty decent shape both mentally and physically.

Anyway, we're going to auction off those 8 yak sherpa trips.  The winners of the auction would carry their own rods and fish stringers (they'll want to weigh in their fish in after all) up the hill, we'll do the rest.   Of course, your kayak will have to be free of excess water, sand, yourselves, etc..just your kayak and basic gear please.  We'll pick up your kayak from the beach and bring it to the top of the hill (the parking lot on the west side of Hwy 1) for you.

Oh and we aren't going to be carting kayaks down in the morning (BrianG could never be awake in time for that and we both have a tournament to fish).  We'll begin bringing kayaks up the hill shortly after we've weighed in our own fish which means as late as 30 mins after the weigh in deadline.

As for bidding, we'll do this here on this thread based on when you post your bid and how much you are bidding.  Note that you can get bumped out of your spot by someone willing to pay more. That just means you'll have to re-bid more. Bidding closes the Tuesday before Elk.

Bidding starts at $20 per yak sherpa trip with increases in increments by $5

For example.. let's say the first eight bids in order of post time look like this...

$20 Joe
$20 Fred
$20 Adam
$20 Tom
$20 John
$20 Andy
$20 Joel
$20 Rich

then if Bob bids $25, Rich get's bumped and now the list is

$25 Bob
$20 Joe
$20 Fred
$20 Adam
$20 Tom
$20 John
$20 Andy
$20 Joel

more bids happen and eventually have something maybe like this.

$40 Bob
$35 Eugene
$35 Joe
$35 Fred
$30 Omar
$30 John
$30 Andy
$30 Joel

We're not looking to get rich off this scheme and our plan is to use our proceeds to buy our tickets for the Coastside raffle.

Thanks,

The Two Brians - Bsteves and BrianG

How much would you charge to just fish for me that way I can just kick back in camp?

Underbidding.. well I guess if Scott is offering $5 for non-union work and some parents are willing to enslave their sons, we have to compete.  New minimum $20 and no lower.   I'll put you down Bill.

This is just for getting your kayak up the hill.  You'll have to figure out away to get it down.  Check with Scott, he might do it for 25 cents.

Normally, I would pull yaks up that hill all day but recently injured my knee while hiking the sierras.

Maybe Danglin will pull my yak up the hill???  Seeing how he likes to come in early to weigh his fish. :smt044 :smt044 :smt044   JTF

Ya know...  if you hire someone to haul your yak you are risking your fish karma.  Like, if you do hire I'd say you have a better chance of getting skunked out there.  If you don't hire you're just neutral karma.  If you speak out against it and maybe even offer to haul yaks for free you may just win the tournee!  Just my take on it - Sorry, Brian's!   :smt003

I got $20 that says Brian gives up after 3 yak trips up the hill.

God I wish I was fishing Elk this year ... and still had my Triple.
