Today was one to remember! Beautiful weather, with light winds setting up the perfect drifts from Tioga St. south. Started the morning making bait outside the breakwater. Nice plump sardines and a lonely squid. 15-20 minute paddle over to Tioga St. with bait everywhere, and a sizable gang of cormorants in hot pursuit. On the second drift, @ 60 ft. of water, the clicker on my reel sprang to life with a wizz. Relax! I said to myself aloud. This being possibly the first yak butt of the summer I was a little excited. After a short, frisky fight I set my eyes upon my first "Dink" butt of the year. He was all of about 18". Released to grow and fight another day. About ten minutes into my fourth drift I hooked into what was obviously a legal fish. Oh boy was he! When I got color on him(nearly 20 minutes later) my heart began to race. It was easily the biggest kayak fish I've ever landed...So far. About 45" long and a good 30 lbs. This fish absolutely kick my *ss. By the way, I also farmed(lost) another legal sized fish on the third drift. Saw other P.B.'s catching too. Hot bites don't usually last long around here so get your Butts out there!

Lessons learned (for catching/landing large fish): Shorter rod, no longer than 6'; shorter leader no longer than 4'; and a longer gaff, at least 36".
I was fishing a 7' rod with a 6' leader and a 18" gaff. All of these factors caused me to lose this guys little brother, and nearly this one too.

Nice Job!! Do you have microsoft office picture manager? It's really easy to resize for websites with that program.

Nice work native!

In iphoto you want to export them to "medium" size. Click the pic you want, Click file, export. For kind choose jpeg, size medium. Then attach that file.

Nice butte I find it easier just to resize in the camera.
Group IQ is inversely proportional to the size of the group.

A Steelhead always knows where he is going, but a Man seldom does.
